Burling and Tuke. Have you really doubted?
The victories of Peter Burling and Blair Tuke (New Zealand, 49er), Annemic Beckering and Annette Duetz (Holland, 49erFX) and finally Vittorio Bissaro and Maelle Frascari (Italy, Nacra 17) in Auckland ended the world championship in three Olympic sail classes.
We especially emphasize the gold medals of Burling and Tuke – two, probably, the greatest yachtsmen of our time (for the number of awards and titles – for sure). We list only a few of their achievements. Silver medalists of the 2012 Olympics in London in class 49er, winners of the 2016 Games in Rio. Multiple world champions. The winners of the America Cup in 2017. Participants Volvo Ocean Race-201/18. Finally, two-time holders of the titles of the best yachtsman in the world (in 2015 – together).
Last year, Burling and Tuke decided to resume their Olympic careers to take part and win the 2020 Games. And, as you see, purposefully go to their goal.
