According to the press service of the Sailing school “Krestovsky island”:
Zoya Novikova and Diana Sabirova – 3rd place (class 49erFX). Daniel Usachev Ilya Ganeeva – 16-e (49er class). Vasily Andreev Leonid Polevym – 22-e (49er class).
Three crew athletes Sailing school “Krestovsky island” took part in the European championship in Portugal. One female and two male crew. For boys the competition was the first at the international level and in many ways trial.
Coach our sports teams in the 49er and FX classes Vadim Pusev said:
“Overall drove good. About the result we expected. Girls 1st-3rd place and the boys in the middle. Could be a little better to distill the young Vasily Andreev and Leonid Pusev, but the weather made its own adjustments, too much barrel for them. More because of their age – not enough about 20 kg weight, what they will work in the winter in the gym. The crew of Usachev Daniil and Ilya Ganeev showed themselves at their level for the first international regatta. As expected, there were problems from the start, which we will hold in the winter”.
According to Vadim, the crew of Zoe and Diane picked up significantly after the world Cup, and the girls initially had the task to enter the top three.
The challenge for the near future – to work hard on technique. On January 20 the team of Vadim Pusheva again come to Vilamoura for training, where they will join another female crew – Catherine Birch with Lisa Borovkova and another male crew”.
