Village captain
This is the essay, which is published in Ogonyok. It’s about the fact that a former sailor and car mechanic Sergey Tokarev opened a boat museum in a remote Vologda village, from which there are 7 kilometers to the nearest water.
Sergei Vinogradov’s essay begins with the following: “He wears the captain's uniform for days, drives the village children and tourists around the ship, which he cut down in full size in the middle of a potato field – raises the sails, anchors in the mugs and nettles and yells at the wild voice of the ship:“ Right on that a pine tree! ”And also wins the All-Russian contests of social entrepreneurship, cultural and educational activities, and children's tourism.”
