What awaits us in the racing Kiteboard in the near future? Some manufacturers will be admitted to the Olympic games in 2024? How is the approval process children’s class in kiteboarding? These questions following the conference, IKA, discussed live on Instagram Taradin Denis and Alexey Chibizov, the coach of sshor of sailing “Krestovsky island”. We summarized the discussion and highlighted the main points that will be interesting how coaches and athletes.
First, important and very relevant to the entire sports community section – carrying out of international competitions.
Because of coronavirus international and local competition, planned for June – July were canceled or postponed to a later date. However, many of the organizers have already confirmed their willingness to host events closer to the end of the year. Thus, Austria has offered to host the world Cup in late September. Poland declared readiness, as planned earlier, to meet the athletes at the end of August. China plans to hold 3 or 4 large stages in September, October, November and December. Italy is oriented to hold the competition in early September. At the end of may in Italy there will be a meeting at the government level, which will decide on the sports events in the fall.
In turn, the international Association of kiteboarding adopted for 2021 world youth championship, which will be held in the Hague (Netherlands) and Youth Olympic games in 2022. The world Cup will be organized in the format similar to the Olympic games in 2024 in Paris, where there will be two quizzes – individual formula kite and Tim Riley formula kite. These steps are designed to reinforce in athletes a new principle of competition.
On July 2021, the planned world Cup World Sailing. In this competition will be the team standings, also will be awarded the license for the YOG 2022.
That is, if athlete is 17 years and younger, then he has every chance to become the Youth Olympic games.
To sum up the above solutions and plans in the world cannot relax. Based on the statements of IKA in the second half of August will begin active competition season and it is very important to support yourself in the best possible shape to return to the water to go easier and more efficient.
The second important issue online conference IKA is the equipment which will be certified for use at the Olympic games in 2024.
In September 2019 IKA announced the beginning of collection of documents from manufacturers who want to be certified for the Olympic games 2024. Manufacturers were required to provide detailed information about yourself, plant and technological characteristics of production. As it was necessary to disclose trade secrets, not all brands were willing to do. In particular, one of the market leaders in Mike’s Lab refused to participate in certification and has been automatically rejected by the technical Committee.
This decision means only one thing – the manufacturer may not be represented at the Olympic games in 2024, but the race for commercial equipment of this brand can be used.
First step were the following companies.
10 manufacturers of foil:
5 manufacturers of kites:
The next phase involves the departure of the special Commission World Sailing to check plants in the field. This process will last another 1.5 – 2 years and presented the list can still be corrected.
The equipment of these manufacturers can be made in the Formula Kite disciplines and to obtain a license for the Olympic games. Equipment from other manufacturers, you can speak to the World Series and any other Class Open Foil competitions.
Alex Chibizov in conversation with Denis noted that about half of the presents today manufacturers hydrofoils that have passed the first stage of selection for the Olympic games, were not allowed formerly, racing equipment. Moreover, the Formula Kite is not a monotype and will need to tighten control over the production, to achieve a unified and standard quality equipments.
Third and a very hot issue for the new Olympic discipline is the establishment of a children’s class. How will he develop? What are the rules he assumes?
Children’s class is in the final stages of approval. We know for sure that this will be the age group to 16 years.
Now scheduled for 2021 kids world championship in Formula Kite. Under this IKA announced a competition among manufacturers for the production of special children’s equipment in order to select the appropriate options until August 2020.
