For 11 days, the French skipper Francis Jouillon and his crew of 4 have been trying to set a new world record on the classic tea race route from Hong Kong to London on the IDEC Sport max trimaran.
Over the past 11 days, the trimaran covered 6072 nautical miles (with an average speed of 23.1 knots). At the same time, IDEC Sport is already 771 miles (that is, almost a day and a half) ahead of the schedule of the current record holder – Italian Giovanni Soldini on Maserati Multi 70.
Recall that in 2018 Soldini overcame the distance from Hong Kong to London for 36 days, 2 hours, 37 minutes and 2 seconds.
