Last weekend in Konakovo River Club (Ivankovskoe vdkhr.) With the support of Stoloto passed the second stage of the selection for the championship of Russia in the class of yachts J / 70 – "Konakov regatta: reboot."
Teams from St. Petersburg, Moscow and the Moscow region, Perm, Nizhny Novgorod and Sochi came to the regatta. Recall that for the Russian championship, the first four crews are selected at the end of each stage.
After the traditional opening ceremony and the presentation of the teams, the helmsman was briefed to analyze possible dangers at a distance, as the races were held downstream than usual. It was decided to give the water area in front of the hotel’s guest pier under the Russian wakesurf championship.
Due to heavy rain the first start was postponed, and only at 14 o'clock did the yachts go the distance. The first race was fairly quiet, but along the way it was obvious that the participants seemed to be divided into two groups: someone managed to set up the boat immediately for a turn, someone picked up the settings. In the second race, the cloud front approached, and the wind intensified before the appearance of foam tracks on the water, but the “torn” wind delivered the big trouble to the riders. Someone caught the broching, someone almost lost the helmsman, but to the finish everyone coped with the problems. In the third race, the wind weakened and became smoother – respectively, everyone finished quietly. The race committee attempted another race, but the wind was turned off and the race was stopped.
On Sunday, the race began on the program and passed in a bitter struggle. For the second day in a row, the Sail & Sea team continued to lead, but other teams began to catch up significantly. The team from Perm was especially distinguished, it expanded from the sixth parishes to the leadership. The PEK-sport team, which also fought with the leaders, went quite smoothly at the regatta. At times, the gap between the boats at the finish line ranged from 1 to 5 seconds, an acute tactical battle was played out.
As a result, the Sail & Sea team (steering V. Kharabardin, St. Petersburg – Moscow) took the lead and took the 1st place, the PEC-Sport team took the second place (steering V. Filatov, Moscow region). In third place, the PARMA team (steering V.Tarakanov, Perm) literally burst onto the podium, and the fourth participant in the Chechen Republic was the UKSH team (steering E.Somin, Yekaterinburg).
The championship of Russia in the class of yachts J / 70 due to the restriction of holding mass sporting events in Sochi from October 15 to 27, 2019, will be held from October 30 to November 4. Racing days: November 1 – 3, 2019.
