The American Kiteboarder Rob Douglas set a new world record on the beach of the French town of La Palm trees, he overcame dimensional nautical mile with an average speed from 39.04 node (72,30 kilometers per hour).
Tramontana (cold North and northeast wind) muzzle during record run, which was held in the framework of the tournament Prince of Speed, with a speed of 30 to 45 knots.
The previous record – 35,78 nodes belonged to Frenchman Christophe Balloy and was installed a year ago.
It remains to add that record (it now will have to be ratified by the world sailing Council registration records – WSSRC) was established on 10 June. But the status of Douglas, come now – not with a record, but rather at a snail’s pace.
