      A few hours remain until the start of the XXIII St. Petersburg Sailing Week (SPPN) and the Russian Championship in the national cruising-racing class of yachts “L-6”. SPPN is one of the oldest regattas in Russia, dating back to 1898.

Last Tuesday, a meeting of the Credentials Committee was held, according to the results of which 33 crews of yachts from St. Petersburg and other regions of Russia announced for participation in the races. The sizes of participating boats vary from 16 to 7 meters in length. All participants will be divided into 5 test groups:

1. A group of yachts with an ORC racing score;

2. Group of yachts "L-6";

3. A group of yachts of the Taurus type;

4. Yacht group "Carter 30;

5. Yacht group Quarterton.

Yachts of the largest in number, the test group “L-6, in the amount of 13 pennants, also take part in the championship of Russia cruising-racing yachts of class“ L-6.

The first stage will take place from St. Petersburg to Kronstadt, after which, on the evening of August 10, the fleet will leave for the Kronstadt – Sosnovy Bor stage.

The organizers of the regatta are the St. Petersburg Sailing Union, the St. Petersburg Sea Assembly, the St. Petersburg River Yacht Club of the Trade Unions, the Sports Team of Yachtsmen SPbRYAK, the Association of Cruising-Racing Yachts of Class “L-6”. The regatta will be held with the assistance of the “Administration of the Baltic Sea Ports”, the Administration of the Sosnovoborg City District.

The general partner of the regatta is the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, the partners of the regatta are HUBEX and the GRILL # FACTORY restaurant.
