As you know, in 1992, it was 500 years since Columbus discovered America. And in honor of this momentous event in the city of Corpus Christi (this is in Texas) three replicas of the famous Columbian ships – "Santa Maria", "Pinto" and "Nina" arrived from Spain. On this occasion, held a solemn ceremony.
Moreover, four years later, the Spaniards decided to donate these ships to the city of Corpus Christi. In honor of which another solemn ceremony took place. The Spaniards have long been thanked. After that, "Santa Maria", "Pinto" and "Nina" began to work for the benefit of the citizens – a school of historical ship navigation was opened.
Time passed, and the labor courts needed repairs. It was then that it turned out that there is no extra money in the treasury of Corpus Christi – and it is not expected. On the court – for sure. And in 2014, it was decided to Solomon: "Santa Maria" and "Pinto" flooded. What was done.
So, it turns out, for the unfortunate replicas it was the best option. The pictures we publish are not them at all, but Nina. In August 2017, when hurricane “Harvey” hit the coast of Texas, it already went under water. With a sin in half raised.
