Yesterday 253 years in prison for each In the last issue of Yacht Russia we wrote that a Greek court had sentenced two Russian yachtsmen – 395 years in prison for two. And they warned about the threat of trust to the scammers from the Internet. And here again!
In Greece, two Russians – Konstantin Semyonov and Ivan Voznikovtsev (pictured), both of whom are from Izhevsk, were sentenced to 253 years in prison, charged with transporting illegal migrants and human trafficking. Punishments for other crimes have been added to the terms. Such a long term is due to the fact that sailors received from 7 to 12 years for each migrant, and punishments for other crimes were added to this.
The Russians came to Turkey buying an ad on the Web. They were promised to be paid € 2,000 a month for working on a yacht and transporting tourists. After a course in yacht management, the Russians went to sea, but their yacht was constantly breaking, as they reported to the employer. At the appointed point, instead of a boat with spare parts, boats with illegal immigrants arrived at the ship. The employer threatened the seamen with reprisals, as a result Semenov and Voznikovtsev were forced to let the migrants on board. At a slow pace, they walked along the coast, trying to attract the attention of the coast guard. They succeeded, but this moment was not taken into account by the court.
