They will need help during the offshore race the Nord Stream Race in Helsinki and in St. Petersburg (2-8 July) and also during the competitions, the Sailing Champions League, Sailing Champion League (3-7 July) and the National sailing League (11-14 July) at the Peter and Paul fortress during the world Junior championship in the Olympic class RS:X (3-11 August).
“Participation of volunteers is of great strategic importance: the volunteers create an atmosphere of hospitality and friendliness, they help to transmit the values and meanings for which there is an event, regatta, racing, festival,” — said the head of projects of the Yacht club of Saint-Petersburg Elena Solovyeva.
Volunteers will perform tasks in teams of technical support and service of hospitality. A separate category of volunteers constitute the so-called liaison officers — Liaison officers. So are the volunteers assigned to each team member who help visitors to navigate in a strange city and feel like at home and are the intermediaries between the athletes and competition organizers.
Read more about regattas, the requirements of the organizers and a nice bonus at the end of the season to future volunteers will tell you during the installation meeting in March. Also information will be published in the official group program Sailing Events Volunteers Vkontakte. If the program is deemed successful, at the end of the season based on it will be formulated methodology and a plan to attract volunteers for the next three years.
