Yesterday the Cape town port has left the cargo ship BBC Dolphin, on Board of which there are 9 boats class ТР52 participating in the prestigious 52 SUPER SERIES.
The fleet ТР52 visited Cape town for the first time and was forced to spend much more time than originally planned. We will remind that in the beginning of March there was held the first regatta of the season (a record which bore a long title – Odzala Camps Discovery 52 SUPER SERIES in the V&A Waterfront Cape Town). Won it Azzurra Italian, and Russian “Battleship” took the fourth place.
After that, the team heading back home in no hurry: at the end of March in the same Cape town was the scheduled world championship in the class ТР52, but intervened infamous COVID-19. And in the end, the championship had to be postponed to September, and the boats permanently stuck in a closed quarantined South Africa.
The port of Cape town still closed (it should open on may 1), but for the Navy ТР52 made an exception. Yesterday, as you know boats and boat maintenance and containers teams, loaded on BBC Dolphin, then a truck, without delay, headed for Valencia.
The arrival of this Spanish town is scheduled for may 16.quarantineyacht
