This is now the record of the Tea Race from Hong Kong to London, set this morning by the famous French skipper Francis Jouillon and his crew of four on the max-trimaran IDEC Sport.
Since 2018, the French team managed to improve the previous record, owned by Italian skipper Giovanni Soldini on the maxi-trimaran Maserati Multi 70, by 4 days, 3 hours, 0 minutes and 26 seconds.
The finish line, passing under the Queen Elizabeth II bridge on the Thames, IDEC Sport overcame today at 7.37 London time (i.e. at 10.37 Moscow time). During the trip, the trimaran covered 15,873 nautical miles with an average speed of 20.7 knots.
