The first picture – the moment of triumph Maxi-trimaran Maserati Multi70. Today, about three in the morning local time, the crew led by the famous Italian Giovanni Soldini was the first of THE Transatlantic race participants crossed the finish line at Port Louis Marina in Grenada.
In order to overcome the path length 2995 nautical miles (the race started, recall from Lanzarote in the Canary Islands) team Maserati Multi70 it took 6 days, 18 hours and 40 minutes.
This result is not a record for THE Transatlantic in 2016 Phaedo3 trimaran (MOD70) overcame those 2995 miles from Lanzarote to Grenada in 5 days, 22 hours, 06 Mina and 59 seconds.
But this time all who are watching the race, to the last kept in suspense intrigue – who will win at the Maxi-trimaran? Because from the very beginning – from the Canary Islands, the frenzied competition to the future winner had a MOD70 PowerPlay Peter Cunningham. Two giant trimaran was not going to yield to each other, walked around, alternately took the lead, and it was unclear whose take.
In the end, as you already know, won the Maserati. Despite the fact that the PowerPlay (in the picture) finished in Port Louis Marina after just about 45 minutes, 38 seconds.
