In portorož (Slovenia) started the world championship in the 470 class, which is attended by 65 crews, including two from Russia.
In the first day of competition consisted of three races. Literally 15 minutes before the start, according to RUS Youth Sailing Team, one of the Russian sailors – Alexey Safonov – shared his first impressions:
“The weather conditions are beautiful! A steady wind of 3-4 m/s, the heat is unbearable, but if the time to cool off, you can live. The water is amazing! The atmosphere in the yacht club friendly – though a little tense. Everyone is preparing for competitions – set up the boats and discuss racing manual. The organization of the regatta at the highest level: food, fresh water, easy launching, all at the highest level. Attitude our team is fighting, boat set up, boat made! After a couple of minutes to go on the water to warm up – and fight!”
In the first three races (with one outlier) Timothy Grigorin-Ryabov and Alexey Safonov occupy 11-e a place – 9 points, parishes (19) – 5 – 4. Second Russian crew – Olga shoykhet/ Denis Makarov – on the 27th place, they have 23 points, wards 13 – 10 – (15).
