And yet – the Pole and the Brazilian
Having won the sixth and final race of the World Championship in the Star class, which was held in Porto Cervo in Sardinia, the gold of the tournament was secured by the Pole Mateusz Kushnerevich and the Brazilian Bruno Prada.
We have already told that this crew is one of the most famous among those who performed in Porto Cervo. Kushnerevich is the best yachtsman of the world in 1999, the 1996 Olympic champion in the Finn class. Prada is a two-time Olympic medalist in the Star class, a four-time world champion. This time they scored 16 points in six races (with one shot). Excellent result!
Another international crew has two points more – Norwegian helmsman Alvind Melleby, who became world champion in Star of 2017, and Joshua Revkin from the United States, one of the best clews in the world.
The third was (you guessed it?), Again, an international crew – American Oji Diaz and Brazilian Henry Bonning. Recall that they were in the lead before the last race, but finished eighth in it and scored a total of 19 points.
