      Another license!
      At the world championship in class 470, which takes place on the Japanese island of Enoshima, the matter goes to the denouement: tomorrow the medal races will take place. In this regard, we have two news – good and bad. Where to start?

Another license!

Let's start with the good one. What is there – with excellent! Pavel Sozykin and Denis Gribanov provided Russia with another Olympic license. As you know, 4 tickets to the Games were played at the championship in Enoshima, and our crew was the second in this race – following the Greeks Panagiotis Mantis and Pavlos Kagialis.

In general, ours are well done! Thanks guys!

The other news is not that bad, but rather sad. According to the results of five qualification and six final races, Pavel and Denis took 11th place and did not get into the medal race. Although we, of course, hoped that they would fall.

Well, we remain optimistic. It didn’t work out now – it will work out at the Olympics! Sure!

Well, in the medal race the fight will be exciting. Two crews claim for gold – Jordi Xammar / Nicholas Rodriguez from Spain (they have 23 points, and they finished first in 6 out of 11 races) and Australians Matthew Belcher / Will Ryan (24 points). At the same time, the rest are far behind and can only claim to bronze.

As for the women's tournament, Alisa Kirilyuk and Angelika Chernyakhovskaya eventually took 29th place.

The leaders before the medal race are still the British Hannah Mills / Eilid McIntyre – 48 points. But Japanese Ai Kondo Yoshida / Miho Yoshioka is very close (49).

      A license is great! But…
      In the Japanese city of Sakaiminato today ended the world championship in the class "Laser-radial". Gold regatta went to Anne-Marie Rind from Denmark. This is her you see in the pictures.

A license is great! But...

Now Anne-Marie is a two-time world champion: we recall that before that she won in 2015. In addition, the Danish – the bronze medalist of the Games-2016 in Rio.

Following the results of five qualifying and six final races (with two outliers) Rindom scored 50 points. The second, 36 points behind (!), Was the name of Marit Boumeester from Holland (she’s the 2012 silver medalist of the 2012 Games in London, the champion of the Rio Olympiad and also the three-time world champion). Finally, the bronze at the representative of the UK Alison Young – 89 points.

Our Ekaterina Zyuzina did an important job by winning one of those ten Olympic licenses for Russia that were being played out in Sakaiminato. This is of course great! Only now Ekaterina took only 45th place (242 points), which, alas, does not give reason to be optimistic about our Olympic prospects.

Our second representative, Valeria Lomatchenko, speaking in the Silver Fleet, is in 85th place (273 points).

It remains to add that Elena Vorobieva (now Croatia) settled in the table at the 20th position.

The final results of the championship –

P.S. At the same time, the World Championship in the Laser Radial class for men ended in Sakaiminato. As we reported, it was a strange tournament: 32 yachtsmen participated in the regatta, but only 6 of them were foreigners, the rest 26 were local, and Japanese. However, for lovers of statistics will let you know: Simon de Gendt (Belgium) got the gold. Immediately behind him – the other five foreigners, and then – 26 Japanese in friendly ranks.

      There is a chance to win a license!
      In Sakaiminato (Japan), the World Laser Radial Championship is coming to an end. Tomorrow evening the solemn ceremony of closing the regatta will take place.

There is a chance to win a license!

But this, we repeat, will happen tomorrow, and today two regular final races were held. And the leader has changed again. Edge Güzel from Turkey (who now has 59 points) was beaten by the 2015 world champion and the bronze medalist of the Games in Rio Anne-Marie Rindon from Denmark (57 points).

In general, the closer the finish, the stronger the intensity of the struggle. In certain hands, even Yosefin Olsson from Sweden can claim the title, which was the first for a long time, but now occupies only the 8th place!

Catherine Zyuzina, alas, does not claim high places (now she is at the 44th position in the table), but she has a chance, and a real one, to win the Olympic license! But you need to give everything to the fullest: other contenders for Olympic trips are very close!

Veleriya Lomatchenko, as you remember, is now serving in the Silver Fleet. After two races on Tuesday, she is in 89th place.

P.S. Readers ask us to mention the speech of Elena Vorobyova, who, as you know, now represents the Croatian national team. So, Helen is the 12th. Moreover, her Olympic license is essentially guaranteed.

      Komissarov won a license!
      All is well that ends well. Sergey Komissarov was able to earn an Olympic license for Russia at the World Class Laser-Standard class championship that ended today in Sakaiminato (Japan).

Komissarov won a license!

But what did it cost Sergei? Recall, taking the day before, in two races on Monday, 41st and 33rd places, the Commissioners immediately dropped to 20th position in the overall standings. Medal hopes, alas, melted. But perhaps even worse, the chances of obtaining an Olympic license, which seemed so real, were in great doubt.

All decided the two final championship race, held today. In the first of them Komissarov finished only 30th. Now there was no place to retreat. The last race Sergey went out, as the last battle, – and …

And he became the third in it! What brought him the 17th place in the overall standings and the coveted license. Congratulations, Sergey!

Recall that in Sakaiminato had to play 5 trips to the Olympics. So they went to Sweden (Jesper Stalheim – 13th place), Argentina (Francisco Guarana – 14th), Russia (Sergei Komissarov – 17th), Hungary (Benyamin Vadnaya – 20th) and Guatemala (Juan Ignacio Maella – 22nd).

Oh, we forgot to name the one who got the gold of the tournament! And it got Olympic champion Tom Burton from Australia, whose advantage was so impressive that he won the race ahead of time, even before the last race.

It remains to add that Maxim Nikolaev took the 47th place, Daniel Krutskikh – the 71st.

Today – Saturday, July 6 – took another two races. After which our Sergey Komissarov takes the 15th place.

This is – if briefly. Now read more. In both races of the day the Commissioners finished 9th. Now he has 30 points. Maxim Nikolaev is on the 40th place (68 points), Daniil Krutskikh – 85-m (126).

When this came forward the new Zealander Sam Meech, who in both of these races won. He has 13 points. It turns out, the Commissioners, after 6 races, behind the leader at 17 points. That, I think, is not the abyss.

But, more importantly, not even that. As we mentioned in Sakaiminato should be awarded 5 tickets to the 2020 Olympics. So in this “race licenses” at Komissarova very good position.

A large part of the licenses, of course, has already been played a year ago in a comprehensive world Cup. And of those who they claim now, the best results are from the following countries and boaters:

10. Sweden. Jesper Hardangerfjord and in Voss – 23 points;

15. Russia. Sergey Komissarov – 30;

19. Spain. Joaquin Blanco Alabat – 40;

20. Hungary. Benjamin Vadnai – 42;

21. Guatemala. Juan Ignacio Maali – 42.

To make predictions, of course, so far, but hopes for a favorable outcome there, and it will agree, good!

On the other hand, we must remember that, besides those already mentioned, in the Gold fleet of the representatives of the five countries that have yet to get hold of the Olympic licenses. So the struggle will be fierce.

Yes, we still have not said that the qualifying race is completed, and now the participants will compete in the Gold, Silver and Bronze fleets.
