OptiOrange 2020: application open
The international regatta in the Optimist class OptiOrange Valencia published the regatta regulation and announced the recruitment of participants. Competitions will be held in Valencia on March 5-8, 2020.
The organizers of OptiOrange Valencia – St. Petersburg Yacht Club and the host club Real Club Náutico Valencia – continue to work on the preparation of the third season of the popular international OptiOrange Valencia regatta.
The second season of OptiOrange Valencia, which took place in March this year, tripled the composition of the participants, compared with the first regatta a year earlier. More than 300 young athletes from 16 countries spent a week in training and competitions in the excellent conditions of the Real Club Náutico Valencia. Lunch was provided free of charge for participants daily, hundreds of prizes were raffled off, including the new Optimist hull, and, of course, tons of oranges and freshly squeezed juice.
For the convenience of the teams, a shuttle shuttled daily, which delivered athletes to and from the yacht club. Guests of the regatta and parents could watch the competition from the side of a comfortable vessel, cruising close to the distance.
Of course, the main ingredient for success was the beautiful Valencian water area. During all days of training and competition a steady wind of light and medium strength blew. Thanks to the professional work of the committee, not a minute of competitive time was lost.
In the new season, the organizers plan to implement a number of ideas that will help improve OptiOrange Valencia. Given the explosive growth in the number of participants, two racing distances are planned – for junior and senior athletes. At the same time, all the "chips" that made OptiOrange Valencia so popular will be preserved. This is a low entry fee, a profitable and convenient charter of boats and boats, free meals for participants during the competition and much more.
“Among other things, OptiOrange Valencia is a great chance to prepare for the season in sparring with the strongest yachtsmen in Europe,” says regatta director Denis Pilipenko. – This spring twice the world champion Maria Perello Mora from Mallorca, the titled Martin Atilla from Estonia, many winners and prize-winners of national championships from different countries came to the start of the regatta. Before important international starts for Russian juniors, this is a great chance to test their shape. And, among other things, Valencia is just a great place for training, competition and relaxation. ”
The Regulation on the OptiOrange Valencia 2020 regatta has already been published on the official website of the competition and functionality has been launched at the request of athletes and payment of fees. The reduced cost of the participant’s application will be valid until February 5, 2020.
