International Federation sail – World Sailing – announced in a press release that in late December his post, which he held for 4 years, will leave the Director-General of the Federation, 56-year-old Briton, Andy hunt.
In his own words, at the beginning of 2020, it will take another no less high and responsible position in world sport.
Foreign sailing publications greeted the news of the upcoming departure of the hunt outwardly neutral, but between the lines in their materials through ill-concealed satisfaction. Hunt, who before had no relation to sailing, has been criticized in the press for four years on a post in World Sailing. Moreover, more than once there were calls for his departure.
Before becoming CEO of the International Federation of sail, hunt worked at the British Olympic Association and led a number of media companies. He was also one of the leaders of the organizing Committee of the 2012 Olympics in London, where, according to former colleagues, left about itself not the best memory.
