Today in Melbourne, Australia hosted the first race day of the championship of Oceania in the class “Laser”.

.From a sailing school “Krestovsky island” in the class “Laser radial” are Yekaterina Zyuzina, Maria Kisluhina and Alexander Lukoyanov, the “Standard” – Daniil Krutskikh.

Despite difficult weather conditions, one race was held today. The wind at 30-35 knots and high waves make it difficult regatta, and was unusual for our athletes. “The wind today was at an angle to the shore and very strong. Because of this, the sea gusts strongly felt that was exacerbated by high and steep wave. At the approach to the shore the wind was very unstable,” says coach, “Central” Vladimir Krutskikh.

Despite the difficulties, the guys are excited. Vladimir says: “it Was cool, and tetroxide in distilled. Guys feel that they can. This is an invaluable experience.”

The frequency of the class “Laser-radial” were divided into two groups. The first group got Kisluhina and Zyuzin, the second – Lukoyanov.

Recall that the command “Krestovsky went to Australia in late December to participate in the championship of Australia in the class “Laser”, which was held in Melbourne from 3 to 8 January. The resulting break in the eve of the championship of Oceania, our athletes spent in active preparation. Daniil Krutskikh trained on the water along with top athletes from Australia and England, girls were trained separately, working on starts and prerelease to wave.

“In Melbourne often strong winds. The weather changes 4 times a day. Hot, then rain again, heat and wind. The currents are wind, not strong. As the depth in the Bay of 6-10 meters waves constantly large, and without training they are very hard to steer. And so we make prerelease. The main difficulty is smog from fires. Sometimes not

seen at a distance of 200 meters. The organizers are seriously thinking about whether to cancel the race in poor visibility,” – said Vladimir Krutskikh.

The first day of racing at the Oceania CHempionate ended for athletes “Krestovsky” with the following results:

Laser radial. The first group.

Kisluhina Mary – 23rd (22 points)

Zyuzin Catherine – 26-I (25 points)

The second group.

Alexander Lukoyanov – 25-I (25 points)

Laser standard.

Daniil Krutskikh – 44 (43 points)

Tomorrow’s scheduled 3 races.
