Salendron walked around Antarctica!
Yesterday it seemed like science fiction: an unmanned scientific ship under sail, the so-called saildrone, circled Antaktida, breaking 22 thousand kilometers! The journey took 196 days.
Scientists sent the sellron to autonomous navigation on January 19 from the New Zealand port of Bluff. On August 3, a 23-foot (7 meter) unmanned ship returned to its launch site. It was equipped with numerous instruments and sensors. The data obtained by the salendron is important for studying the climate of the Antarctic region, emphasizes https://www.sailingscuttlebutt.com.
