Kite – from Sakhalin to Hokkaido!

Press-service “Vneshtradeservice LTD” with understandable pride announced that the company set a world record!

Vtsport.ru informs, “four-time champion of Russia on kiteboarding Evgeny Novozheev 15 October at 10:40 came to water at Cape Crillon, Sakhalin and in 2 hours 56 minutes, breaking the 53 miles, finished in Japan under Wakkanai (the port on the island of Hokkaido), becoming the first athlete who crossed the La Perouse Strait by Kiteboard.

That’s what Eugene says about this event:

“Blow Northwest wind, about 10-12 m/s. Closer to Japan came in heavy gusts, the remnants of the recent cyclone. I was moving in the same direction most of the way, that is, the load was on one leg. Cape Soya (the northernmost point of the Japanese island Hokkaido) the fishermen told me not to land, as there are a lot of networks. I had to go another 10 km, and so it would be even faster than the 2 hours 56 minutes.”

Especially for this transition Eugene was given gidroyodida NeilPryde:

“This time I did not wear a dry suit, such as was the case with the passage of the Bering Strait in 2011, and decided to use 6 mm NeilPryde. I chose Cortex Fullsuit 6/5 mm with integrated hood. Have not ridden in warm neoprene hidrico. The manufacturer stated comfortable use Cortex 6/5 at temperatures 6 to 12 degrees. But when I am out in the distance, it was cooler than 6. Frankly, I doubt that this outfit can be cool when it gets wet and starts to blown by a wind. But nothing like I felt, which was insanely happy! Technology has leaped forward. New materials such as neoprene YAMAMOTO and insulation HOTCELL2 working 100%! The wetsuit is very stretchy, comfortable, absolutely waterproof and not blown. Thank you VTS for the gear Neilpryde about the choice I do not regret it!”

Congratulations Eugene and we are establishing a new world record and thank you for the contribution to popularization of water sports! Looking forward to the movie about this event, which will be released in about a month.”
