In connection with the pandemic COVID-19 offshore regatta Nord Stream Race held on the route Kiel – Copenhagen – Stockholm – Helsinki – St. Petersburg, scheduled for June 2020, moved.It is expected that the regatta starts on 5 September.
The health of the athletes, guests, spectators, members and staff of the clubs-participants and organizers is a top priority for the race organizers, the Nord Stream Race and partners of PJSC “Gazprom” and NordStreamAG. The organizers will continue to follow closely the development of the constantly changing situation, to finally approve the new schedule of the regatta no later than June.
“The official transfer of the timing of the race will remove some uncertainty, will allow teams to make changes to your calendar, and help clubs and teams to prepare,” – explains the decision the Commodore of the Yacht club of Saint-Petersburg, Vladimir Liubomirov.
“Regatta Nord Stream Race will be held for the 9th time. In the current situation we are doing everything possible to hold the regatta this year, changing the timing. Start on 5 September will start the race together with “Kiel week” which also can go after the postponement of these dates,” says Ljubomir. The organizers are in close contact with the relevant authorities to be prepared for further adjustments to the programme of race the Nord Stream Race and to minimize potential health risks.
