      Ahead – three decisive races
      Four races of the European Grand Prix Final were held yesterday in Puerto Portals in Mallorca – a new tournament that concludes the 2019 season in the Dragon class.

Recall that the top 20 crews are participating in the regatta following the results of a prestigious series of four Grand Prix stages (this series, as we reported yesterday, was won by Dmitry Samokhin, Russian yacht RUS76 Rocknrolla).

True, it will be more accurate to say – "participated". Because after four races yesterday, only ten will continue the fight. And among them – two teams under the Russian flag. Rocknrolla Samokhina finished the day in 4th place, RUS27 Annapurna of Anatoly Loginov – in 10th.

At the same time, the winner of the Friday races was also not a stranger to our team, but acting under the Italian flag – ITA77 Bunker Prince Eugene Braslavets. Thanks to this, the team received the right to perform in the final of the regatta, bypassing the quarter-finals and semifinals.

The second place following the results of Friday was taken by the German crew GER1207 Khalleesi, where the skipper is Nikola Friesen. This allowed the team to go straight to the semifinals.

The remaining eight “Dragons” today, on the decisive day of the regatta, will start the fight from the quarter-finals. And may the strongest win. But, of course, I want the Russian to be the strongest!

      The last races of the season in the Baltic
      Today in St. Petersburg will be the first race of the national championship in sailing in the class of yachts SB20. Starts in the Gulf of Finland will be the last official competitions of the Russian calendar in the Baltic.

A large number of regattas, held both in Russia and abroad, allows riders in good shape to approach the main starts of the season. And in the SB20 class, this year it has traditionally turned out to be saturated. Club races, international regattas, stages of the Cup of Russia and other competitions practically non-stop follow one by one, successfully complementing each other.

So, the national championship was preceded by the open championship race of St. Petersburg, which was attended by many Moscow yachtsmen. The entire pedestal, however, remained with the Petersburgers: the crew of Daniil Banayan celebrated the victory, the teams of Igor Ginzburg and Arsen Chubarkov, respectively, took second and third places. The opportunity to compete for the prize places was sadly missed by the riders from the B-Team, who were able to perform only in the second part of the competition, but at the same time showed themselves perfectly, having won in four races in a row.

“Another feature of the current championship of Russia, in addition to the one held on the eve of the championship of St. Petersburg, was the Hugo Rocha Clinic, which harmoniously blended into the series of autumn events,” says Natalia Fedorova, executive director of the SB20 National Yacht Association. – This year there were significantly more clinic participants than in the past, which testifies to the desire of our riders to improve their skills. It's nice that Hugo himself will take part in the Russian Championship as part of the team of Alexei Semenov. ”

In the international regattas of the past season, we note the successful performance of the winners of the winter series in Cascais – athletes from the MST helmsman Vasily Grigoryev, as well as the team of Igor Ginzburg, who (along with other high results) won the regatta in French Hyeres. Noteworthy is the “bronze" of the AM-RUSARC team (steering Anastasia Morozova) at the Grand Slam stage in Cause (England).

      Final races begin
      At the championship of Russia in the class "Optimist" in Togliatti, qualification was completed. According to the results of 5 races, the athletes were divided into 4 fleets – “gold”, “silver”, “bronze” and “green”.

Today in Togliatti a series of final races of the championship of Russia in the Optimist class starts. 303 riders will compete in four fleets. In the "golden" fleet were 70 riders.

“Despite all the difficulties with the wind, we managed to qualify. On the first day, due to a weak and unstable wind, we had only one race in all fleets. On Saturday, the wind was more stable and fresh, which allowed to give all four races. We see what a strong struggle ensued in each of the fleets; the guys arrived in Tolyatti very well prepared. The Russian championship is the result and the result of training athletes for the entire season, ”said the chief judge of the competition, Vadim Mechanikov.

The athlete from the Vodnik Sailing Club Artem Maksimkin, who successively won two prestigious regattas – the Sochi Yacht Club Cup and the Association Cup, proves his level at the Russian championship.       The first races took place at the Russian Championship in sailing in international classes
      The first days of the Russian Championship in international classes do not please riders with a fresh and stable wind. The day before, the organizers did not have a single race. Today's racing day could also not have taken place, but towards evening, the wind still appeared on the water area of ​​the Neva Bay of the Gulf of Finland and the athletes entered the water. A variable and unstable wind with a force of 4 to 6 knots even allowed the organizers to conduct two races in each of the classes.

“We thought that if nothing blew out at 15.00, then we will postpone the race until tomorrow, but implicitly kept in mind the thought:“ What if something happens! ”Says the main judge of the competition Vladimir Komel. – When the unstable south wind of 4 knots began to work, we decided to give the riders a command to go out to the water for the first time to feel the water area. I must say that we guessed right. Yes, the wind was not very strong, constantly changing direction, but nevertheless we managed to conduct two races at all three distances. This was done primarily for the riders themselves! "

The first to return to the shore were athletes of the "red" distance, where windsurfers were chasing. Fatigue was visible on the faces of the guys – they were clearly not just given the race in calm. In such weather conditions, the athletes had to pump up a lot, and the first place was not technical skills, but physical power.

In the Techno class, under the age of 15, the sailing Academy athlete Maxim Lukyanov was the best at pumping, showing the third and second arrivals. Behind him are the athletes from Sevastopol – Dmitry Nesterenko (five points) and Nikita Nezhentsev (six). In the age category up to 17 years old Danila Dineev from Meleuz twice came first and became the absolute leader. At an older age, the leader is the windsurfer from the Moscow "SSHOR No. 26" Ivan Efimov, who scored three points. According to the results of the first race day, the athletes are on the eighth line, but the guys are clearly able to clear the gap in the next races. The female crew of the SSHOR Khlebnikovo, Daria Matrosova / Albina Denisova, leads. Only one point behind him is the riders from Krestovsky Island – Maxim Bondar / Danila Roerich and Victoria Liksanova / Polina Pereshivkina.

In the 420 class, crews from the Krasnodar Territory and the Moscow Region detached from competitors – Mikhail Sakhovsky / Igor Malyavsky (six points) and Denis Lepin / Mikhail Karelin (seven). In the group of pursuers are sportsmen of the Academy of Sailing Anastasia Deryagina / Sofya Vereshchagina (third place) and Pavel Baryshnikov / Dmitry Yakobson (fifth place).

Our parishes are normal – tenth and ninth, but still weak. Class "420" depends on the setting much more than on the level of knowledge. You can set up the yacht very well, and a lot will depend on it. In other boats, the tuning is not as much affected as in 420 and subsequent classes. ”

The largest class of the Championship of Russia in international classes is “Laser 4.7”. For the victory in this discipline immediately compete 95 riders. Before each race day, athletes are randomly divided into two fleets. After the first day, the Krestovsky Island athletes lead the qualification in the Laser 4.7 class. In the first place is Dmitry Golovkin, and only one point behind him are Peter Pashutinsky and Maxim Shaposhnikov.

      In the yachting center on the Japanese island of Enoshima, where the Tokyo Games sailing regatta will be held in 2020, pre-Olympic test competitions are continuing, in which many of the strongest sailors on the planet take part.

The denouement is getting closer: tomorrow morning, on Wednesday, there will be medal races in five disciplines – 49er, 49erFX, Nacra 17 and RS: X in men and women. The Russians are represented in the last two, so let's start with the sailing board.

RS: X, women. According to the results of 11 races, Stefaniy Elfutin – in fifth place (56 points). The competition was attended by about 165 people from several regions of Russia – Moscow, Moscow oblast, Yaroslavl and Sochi.

The regatta took place in two races on the waters of the Klyazma reservoir in the district of Ostashkov reach – distance “Bravo” and Pirogov reach – distance “alpha”.

True, the regatta is of no interest to men. 32 yachtsmen participate in it, but only 6 of them are foreigners, the rest 26 are local, Japanese.

So in the future we will talk primarily about women's competitions. 111 representatives of the fair sex are fighting for the title, who, most likely, are now wondering: why did Japan meet them with such weather conditions? With the wind, really, really bad. For two days, managed to hold only two races.

Russia in Sakaiminato represent Ekaterina Zyuzina and Valeria Lomatchenko. The more experienced Zyuzina started the championships with the 17th and 36th parishes and with 57 points takes the 57th place.
