Today at the Sailing Center of the US team in Miami will be the opening ceremony of the second stage of the World Cup 2020. 205 yachtsmen from 50 countries will take part in the regatta. The first race is tomorrow.

The second stage of the World Cup starts

The World Cup stage will be held in Miami for the 13th time, but this year the program is incomplete: competitions will be held in only seven out of ten Olympic disciplines. These are 470 (men and women), Finn, Laser Standard and Laser Radial, as well as RS: X (men and women).

Judging by the starting protocols, four Russians will go to the start – Pavel Sozykin and Denis Gribanov (470), Valeria Lomatchenko (Laser Radial) and Alexey Selivanov (Finn). Let's cheer for them! Come on guys!

Note that last weekend Lomatchenko and Selivanov, along with several other participants in the upcoming races in Miami, took part in the collective cleaning of the coral reef from debris. Timurovtsy!

Golden Cup Goes to New Zealand
In Melbourne today ended the drawing of the Finn Gold Cup – the "Golden Cup" in the "Finn". So in this class of yachts is called the world championship.

Golden Cup Goes to New ZealandThis is it, the Golden Cup! "Width =" 643 "height =" 367 "data-caption =" This is it, the Golden Cup! "><img src=Australia breaks heat records.
The conditions in which the regatta took place were, let's say, specific. Here is just one example: on Friday in Melbourne the highest air temperature was recorded for 143 years of observations – 44 degrees Celsius! On the water, of course, it was cooler, but not by much. Thanks to the organizers who made life easier for yachtsmen: at the finish they were waiting for an ice bath.

The holder of the "Golden Cup" with a tal 30-year-old New Zealander Josh Junior. Prior to this, there were no victories in his track record, the biggest success was second place at one of the stages of the World Cup in 2016. But in Melbourne he performed brilliantly: he took the lead after the first day of the regatta – and so he didn’t give the championship to anyone, gaining 44 points in the end.

In the second and third places (52 and 53 points respectively), Dutchman Nicholas Heiner and Hungarian Jombor Berech (World Sailing World Champion in Aarhus 2018).

      Gold Cup Launched
The first two Finn Gold Cup races took place in Melbourne – the Golden Cup at Finn. Leadership was taken by two New Zealanders – Andy Maloney and Josh Junior: both have 6 points.

Gold Cup Launched

The Finn Gold Cup is the most important regatta of the class, during which the world title is played. 60 riders from more than twenty countries came to participate in the current Golden Cup. But the Russians this time not. Apparently, the leaders of the team judged that Melbourne is far away, the costs of a business trip are huge, and the chances of success …

But let's not talk about sad things. You already know that two New Zealanders took the lead. Josh Junior won the first race and finished fifth in the second. Andy Maloney, on the contrary, in the first race was 5th, and won the second. In third place is the Croat Nenad Bugarin – parishes 8 – 2.

      Thank you, Siberian Cup!
The Siberian Cup in snowkiting and winter windsurfing ended in Novosibirsk in Novosibirsk. On Sunday, the solemn closing ceremony of the competitions and the award ceremony took place.

Thank you, Siberian Cup!

The current Siberian Cup was no less athletic and fun than all the previous ones. In these few days, a real celebration of the opening of the snowkite season was laid out! The organizers conducted an entertainment program with free snowkiting lessons from Wind’s House kite school and lots of entertainment from the Leonov Show and OUTDOG Trecking. The sports part of the event was no less eventful. In the snowy waters of the Ob Sea, the first snowkiting competitions of the course-flight, freestyle and marathon disciplines took place this season.

Windsurfers also participated in the course flight and the marathon. Winter windsurfing is the same as summer windsurfing, but instead of a surfboard, athletes use a special platform with downhill skiing attached to it. The winner in this discipline was the Arkhangelsk athlete Andrei Khargovsky. The best winter windsurfer this year was Alexandra Fedorenko from Novosibirsk. The junior victory also remained in Novosibirsk, with Ivan Kozhemyakin.

This year, over 120 participants entered all disciplines! Of these, 38 are young athletes who showed at least a heated fight at a children's racing distance than adults! Following the results of 11 races, Savva Kilpio took the victory to Moscow.

All the competition days on the course-flight distance (a race with the envelope of signs located in different directions of the athlete’s movement relative to the wind), the audience watched how the best racers of Russia fought for prizes and until the last intrigue remained, who would win. As a result of 12 races in the overall classification among skiers, the first place was taken by Nikita Kodanev, a young and promising athlete from St. Petersburg. One of the domestic leaders, Gennady Shelyganov from Kolomna, won the snowboard. Among the ladies, the winners were skier Maria Bukreeva from Novosibirsk and snowboarder Tatyana Sysoeva from Chelyabinsk.

It is worth noting the most difficult discipline – a marathon. This is a long distance race that lasts several hours. Athletes drive over 45 km for the race. This is a real challenge for any snowkiter. Among skiers, Ilya Gibadullin became the champion, among snowboarders Stepan Koncha. In winter windsurfing, Ivan Kozhemyakin from Novosibirsk won.

The most spectacular, of course, were freestyle races (athletes perform high jumps with acrobatic stunts using the power of kite traction). This year, four-time world champion in snowkiting in the discipline of freestyle Yekaterinburg Artyom Garashchenko came to us. Artem participated in the planning and equipment of a special zone necessary for competitions in this discipline, in accordance with international rules. And, of course, showed an incredibly high level of riding. Among the skiers, a worthy program of high and difficult tricks was performed by an athlete from Novosibirsk Artyom Murashev. The girls showed no less spectacular performances. The winner was the Novosibirsk athlete Maria Bukreeva.

The organizers thank everyone who helped organize this event this year, including for the prize support of Surfpriyut BAO, Crazy Silver, Cabrinha Russia, HabRus, NL-international and Tsifrodom!

See you next year!

      The Siberian Cup has started!
The grand opening and the first racing day of the snowkiting and winter windsurfing competitions “Siberian Cup 2019” took place in Novosibirsk yesterday.

The Siberian Cup has started!

This year more than 80 adults and more than 40 children will take part in the competitions! Moreover, registration is still open for participants in the marathon and amateur competitions among beginner kiteboarders, which will take place next weekend.

Yesterday the weather pleased only with the sun and warm air temperature. The frontier wind blew all day, so the jury managed to hold only 2 races among children, 2 races among skiers and snowboarders and one among winter windsurfers.

According to the results of the races, strong leaders were identified, but the main struggle is yet to come!

RC44 Cup 2019: an unexpected end
The victory of the Slovenian Ceeref on November 17 ended the thirteenth season of the monotype class RC44 – 44Cup. Vladimir Prosikhin, who claimed victory in the Nika season, was content only with bronze, and Battleship spent the best stage of the year.

RC44 Cup 2019: an unexpected end

According to the laws of the genre, the final stage of 44Cup, which took place on November 13-17 at Palma de Mallorca, pleased with incredible stress and an unpredictable result. The ingredients were difficult weather and uncharacteristic mistakes for class veterans, which, in the end, became the main cause of shifts in the standings.

At first glance, the results show that all nine participants simply did not have enough time to put everything in its place. In the final table 44Cup Palma, there are three tie-breaks at once, both in the top lines and in the middle of the fleet. The first day of the race was lost due to the storm, and in the following days the unstable wind did not allow to catch up. As a result, the stage on Palm became the most “unproductive” for the entire season – only eight races in the standings, without the possibility of throwing these results out of the final table of the season.

During the three days when the teams were on the water, the leader changed three times, and before the final day seven out of nine teams could claim medals.

By the start of 44Cup Palma, the Nika world champions and the reigning world champions, Team Aqua veterans were the leader in the standings of the season by one point three times, while future Ceeref winners were five points behind. But the experience and composure of the winners of the seasons 2016 and 2017 Ceeref helped the team, after an unsuccessful start, even out the results and with four victories in the stage beat the competitors on the way to the gold of the season.

Fascinated by their duel, Aqua and Nika left other opponents aside and lost. Both teams held an extremely unsuccessful stage, and, more importantly, scored the same number of points, dividing the sixth line. Accordingly, in the season table, the rivals were in a tie-break, and the British team, which had two victories at the stages of the season, and who won silver, got the advantage, while “Nika” was content with bronze.

“It turned out, of course, an interesting regatta, but not for us. For us, it turned out to be the most difficult in the last five years, ”says Vladimir Prosikhin, the helmsman of the Niki. – All the problems that could have happened have happened: we were mistaken, we picked the wrong sails, the wind didn’t come in our favor. And, nevertheless, it’s probably worth rejoicing that we remained on the podium with a medal at the end of the season. ”

In turn, the “Battleship”, according to the helmsman Kirill Frolov, held the best stage of this difficult season for the team on Palm. “Good speed, good starts and reaching the first brand,” says Frolov. – But there were also troubles. "Two penalty points on the first day for a collision with Artemis, and today in the first race, when they were in the top five, the tank was washed overboard – while they lifted, they came last."

Unlike the previous stages, the Battleship showed an almost stable result – five finishes in the top three in eight races. It is not surprising that the team stayed in the leading group throughout the 44Cup Palma days, but lost the long-awaited Swedish tie-break Artemis medal.

“Tavatuy” by Pavel Kuznetsov held the stage on the Palm unstable, with four parishes in the top five. Twice the team was close to victory, but lack of experience prevented the implementation of potentially beneficial situations.

Yesterday

      World Cup begins
Today in Torbole on Lake Garda in Italy will be held the first race of the World Cup in class RS: X. The regatta will be attended by 130 men from 40 countries and 106 women (36 countries).

World Cup begins

To participate in the championship, 7 Russian men registered (Evgeny Aivazyan, Alexander Askerov, Vladislav Burmistrenko, Ilya Kirichuk, Anton Tokarev, Maxim Tokarev and Dmitry Sandakov) and 3 women (Stefaniya Elfutina, Yana Reznikova and Anna Khvorikova). On behalf of all our readers, Yacht Russia wishes the Russian racers success. Come on guys! We cheer for you!

It is worth emphasizing that, in addition to medals, 8 Olympic licenses will be awarded to both men and women in Torbole. A year ago, at the integrated world championship in Aarhus, Stefaniy Elfutin, we recall, already received a ticket to the Olympics for Russia. Agree, it would be great if now our guys made their way to the Games!

“We have had a small training camp on Lake Garda since September 16, where the World Cup will be held,” said Mikhail Dubina, the coach of the windsurfing team, in an interview for the RUS Youth Sailing Team. – The weather was traditional for this area. In the morning, a north wind blows here, and closer to dinner, from two o'clock, gusts come from the south. This wind direction is called Ora – it inflates to 22-24 knots. We did two trainings a day, because it was impossible not to use such weather! But now the conditions have begun to change – on the day of the training race it was raining, the temperature dropped to 10-12 degrees. Everyone was waiting for the south wind, but he never came. It was decided to postpone the practice flight for three hours, but due to calm weather it was not possible to go on the water. The first day of competition will begin early on Tuesday morning – the judges decided to play it safe. Racing will lead to the north wind. For the guys, the start is scheduled for 8.00 in the morning, and for the girls for 10.20. Well, then we will look! ”

Today

      Silver Cup 2019 Launched
In the Gulf of Finland today began the drawing of the Silver Cup 2019 in the Dragon class. According to http://russiandragon.ru, according to tradition, the Hercules yacht port accepts it.

Silver Cup 2019 Launched

Teams from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Vladivostok and Jurmala registered for the regatta, including the winner of last year's draw – the Annapurna team (RUS 27) with Alexei Murashkin on the steering wheel.

The judges started the first race exactly on schedule, exactly at 12:00. A south wind of 12-13 knots was established at a distance, with gusts of up to 16. All 15 teams that came to the start area started cleanly.

After the first maneuvering, the teams Russo Orient Express (RUS 91) Yuri Skripkin and Lucky-Lucky (RUS 55) Yuri Kulikov were the first to go to the upper mark, then RUS 18 Yulia Grigoryeva, RUS 27 Aleksey Murashkin and RUS 32 Maxim Gankevich went around by a small margin. It was this five that continued the struggle for victory in the race.

At the lower goal the situation did not change, although RUS 27 managed to play one position.

On a full course there were problems with the spinnaker on the boats of Oksana Renny (RUS 19) and Igor Mironenko (RUS 21), but the teams remained in the race.

After the second tack, the struggle for leadership is heating up. Russo Orient Express (RUS 91) skips forward Kulikova (RUS 55) and Murashkina (RUS 27). Remains the finish line. And here experience takes up. The first finish line is crossed by last year's cup winner – the Annapurna team (RUS 27) consisting of Alexei Murashkin, Vadim Statsenko and Vladimir Ikonnikov. In second place is Yuri Kulikov (RUS 55), Yuri Skripkin (RUS 91) in third.

By the beginning of the second starting procedure, the wind intensified and in gusts reached 20 knots. However, the start was as clean as in the first race. But in this second race, if intrigue persisted, it was only in the struggle for bronze.

Apparently, inspired by his victory, the team of Alexei Murashkin (RUS 27) decided not to miss the advantage and approached the first sign with a wide margin from the pursuers. Further, a dense group rounded around RUS 32, RUS 55, RUS 21 and RUS 18.

At the lower gates, the Annapurna advantage (RUS 27) increased even further. The team of Maxim Gankevich (RUS 32), marching second, was also able to break away from the rest of the fleet. Yuri Kulikov (RUS 55) held in third place, and Anna Basalkina's team (LAT 3) climbed to fourth position.

After the second tack, the position of the leaders remained equally stable. On the sign – RUS 27, RUS 32. And only Igor Mironenko (RUS 21), again ahead of Anna Basalkina (LAT 3), tried to fight for 3rd place with RUS 55. And his struggle yielded results. Having solved the problems with the spinnaker that the team had in the last race, Igor was only one second at the finish, but he was able to beat Yuri Kulikov (RUS 55) and became the third in this race.

Following the results of two races of the day, the leadership was taken by Alexei Murashkin (RUS 27) – 2 points. Maxim Gankevich (RUS 32) and Yuri Kulikov (RUS 55) each have 6 points.

Today

Battleship wins first World Cup victory
On August 28, in Puerto Portals in Mallorca, the world championships in the TP52 class were resumed within the 52SuperSeries. According to the results of the three races held, the team of the Battleship Yacht Club of St. Petersburg rose to third place.

Battleship wins first World Cup victory

A thunderstorm that had passed a day earlier with rain and a squally wind left Puerto Portals an excellent “sailing” weather: 12-15 knots of wind and a practically flat surface of the sea. Using this chance, the judges decided to make up for the forced day of inactivity, having spent three races instead of the usual two. Thus, the offset of the World Cup already has seven races – a serious baggage of points before the decisive day of the competition.

At the same time, today has demonstrated that the competition is really in full swing. Using a pause in the race, Turkish Provezza installed and set up a spare mast – the incredible work of the team’s logistics service. Even more Turkish-British team surprised with two parishes in the top three today. Given the change in the most important element of the mast, the result is simply unbelievable. Let the team close the standings due to two days of absence from the race, their desire for victory deserves admiration.

Another “child prodigy” of the day was the German Platoon, which won two of the three races. The vice champions of the 2018 season, the Muller-Spreyer crew was considered one of the favorites of the competition and for all days Platoon kept in the top three, but the team really shot at the right moment: before the final races.

The break in competitions caused by the storm also benefited the Russian team. "Battleship" in the first race of the day forced to draw attention to itself. At the first sign the team was only the seventh, and at the third – the third! A bit unlucky at the finish, just a minute before crossing the line, a group of rivals on the opposite tack accelerated and five teams immediately rolled into the finish line. It’s annoying, but the crew of Vladmir Lyubomrov was only sixth.

In the second race, the Battleship again takes a conservative start in the center of the line, but on the mark the team of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club was the first. Unfortunately, it was not possible to maintain leadership – only the third parish.

It seemed that after two hours of racing, the forces were no longer the same, but the Battleship was again surprising. After another quiet start, the team reaches the seventh sign. After the first lee segment, the Battleship is already the sixth – that is, it remains in the game. The decisive part of this race was the second tack. It was here that the calculation of the tactics of Morgan Larson worked: in the third round, the Battleship is in the lead with a noticeable margin. And most importantly: the crew of Vladmir Lyubomirov managed to maintain their position and achieve the first victory in the race of the current World Cup!

“The day was really difficult, once again proving that to lead does not mean to win, just like a bad start to the race does not mean its end,” says Vladimir Lyubomirov. – The team’s potential was finally realized, we climbed into the top three and tomorrow we will fight for medals. It was the task of the day and we successfully solved it. ”

Indeed, now the chances of winning a place on the podium of the World Cup look realistic. "Battleship" from the seventh position rose to third. Let the new leaders of the standings, the German Platoon, have quite comfortable 11 points advantages, Azzurra (Italy) has an already more modest advantage – only four points. On the other hand, the British Alegre is two points behind the Armadillo and this is really dangerous.

It is worth considering that the stakes in current competitions are much higher than the medals of the World Cup. In the current situation, the Battleship has good chances to enter the top three and the overall standings of the season. Now the team of the Yacht Club of St. Petersburg from the first three 52SuperSeries of the 2019 season is only three points apart! All will be decided by the two final races on August 29.

Junior Match Racing World Cup Completed
The race committee still hoped that in the early morning, as it was the day before, there would be wind in the waters of the Verkh-Isetsky pond. Therefore, it was decided to change the racing program and start the race at seven in the morning.

Junior Match Racing World Cup Completed

Unfortunately, the forecast was confirmed, and the wind did not exceed two knots, which was not enough for the races.

Nevertheless, the international rules of match racing allow you to take stock of the regatta with the results of all matches held. As a result, the victory and gold medals were very deservedly assigned to the Australian team, which on the first day of the championship pulled ahead.

Silver went to the New Zealand team, and bronze went to the Danish team.

The table of the results of the World Championship in match racing among juniors is as follows:
1st Place – Tom Grimes, Australia
