      Another victory of Samokhin
      In the list of achievements of the dragon player Dmitry Samokhin, who, recall, is one of the nominees for the 11th National Award “Yachtsman of the Year”, it's time to add another line.

The “submission” of Samokhin, claiming along with two other nominees for the title of the best yachtsman in the country, says:

“In 2019, he won the Champions Champions race held in San Remo as part of the anniversary regatta in honor of the 90th anniversary of the Dragon class. Won the Marblehead Cup. First place at the Hans Detmar Wagner Cup on Lake Garda and first place at the German Grand Prix. "

And now – another significant success. Yesterday, in Puerto Portals in Mallorca, Rocknrolla skipper Dmitry Samokhin was awarded the cup for winning the new Dragon class and, I must say, a very prestigious series of four Grand Prix stages. Congratulations from Yacht Russia!

As we already said, the last of the four stages ended yesterday just in Puerto Portals. Samokhin’s team took the second place in the regatta, but this was enough to become the winner in the sum of all tournaments.

Moreover, Samokhin has a chance to win another title. Because today and tomorrow, everything in the same Puerto Portals will host the Grand Prix finals, in which the top 20 dragons will perform following four stages (including five Russians!). Moreover, the race will be on the fly.

After a few – today – there will be a "magnificent ten." Then tomorrow will be the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals, which will determine the champion.

Senatorova again won the OYSTER CUP in Mallorca in division 4 (up to 56 ft). In the division’s largest yachts won by another Russian yacht (skipper, Maxim Kudryashov).

      Battleship wins first World Cup victory
      On August 28, in Puerto Portals in Mallorca, the world championships in the TP52 class were resumed within the 52SuperSeries. According to the results of the three races held, the team of the Battleship Yacht Club of St. Petersburg rose to third place.

A thunderstorm that had passed a day earlier with rain and a squally wind left Puerto Portals an excellent “sailing” weather: 12-15 knots of wind and a practically flat surface of the sea. Using this chance, the judges decided to make up for the forced day of inactivity, having spent three races instead of the usual two. Thus, the offset of the World Cup already has seven races – a serious baggage of points before the decisive day of the competition.

At the same time, today has demonstrated that the competition is really in full swing. Using a pause in the race, Turkish Provezza installed and set up a spare mast – the incredible work of the team’s logistics service. Even more Turkish-British team surprised with two parishes in the top three today. Given the change in the most important element of the mast, the result is simply unbelievable. Let the team close the standings due to two days of absence from the race, their desire for victory deserves admiration.

Another “child prodigy” of the day was the German Platoon, which won two of the three races. The vice champions of the 2018 season, the Muller-Spreyer crew was considered one of the favorites of the competition and for all days Platoon kept in the top three, but the team really shot at the right moment: before the final races.

The break in competitions caused by the storm also benefited the Russian team. "Battleship" in the first race of the day forced to draw attention to itself. At the first sign the team was only the seventh, and at the third – the third! A bit unlucky at the finish, just a minute before crossing the line, a group of rivals on the opposite tack accelerated and five teams immediately rolled into the finish line. It’s annoying, but the crew of Vladmir Lyubomrov was only sixth.

In the second race, the Battleship again takes a conservative start in the center of the line, but on the mark the team of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club was the first. Unfortunately, it was not possible to maintain leadership – only the third parish.

It seemed that after two hours of racing, the forces were no longer the same, but the Battleship was again surprising. After another quiet start, the team reaches the seventh sign. After the first lee segment, the Battleship is already the sixth – that is, it remains in the game. The decisive part of this race was the second tack. It was here that the calculation of the tactics of Morgan Larson worked: in the third round, the Battleship is in the lead with a noticeable margin. And most importantly: the crew of Vladmir Lyubomirov managed to maintain their position and achieve the first victory in the race of the current World Cup!

“The day was really difficult, once again proving that to lead does not mean to win, just like a bad start to the race does not mean its end,” says Vladimir Lyubomirov. – The team’s potential was finally realized, we climbed into the top three and tomorrow we will fight for medals. It was the task of the day and we successfully solved it. ”

Indeed, now the chances of winning a place on the podium of the World Cup look realistic. "Battleship" from the seventh position rose to third. Let the new leaders of the standings, the German Platoon, have quite comfortable 11 points advantages, Azzurra (Italy) has an already more modest advantage – only four points. On the other hand, the British Alegre is two points behind the Armadillo and this is really dangerous.

It is worth considering that the stakes in current competitions are much higher than the medals of the World Cup. In the current situation, the Battleship has good chances to enter the top three and the overall standings of the season. Now the team of the Yacht Club of St. Petersburg from the first three 52SuperSeries of the 2019 season is only three points apart! All will be decided by the two final races on August 29.

      With victory, Rocknrolla!
      The Russian team consisting of Dmitry Samokhin, Andrey Kirilyuk and Alexey Bushuev won today in Kuhlungsborn (Germany) the third stage of the new European series in the class “Dragon”. Congratulations from Yacht Russia!

Everything was decided in the final – the sixth – race. Before that, the YRed team with skipper Peter Gilmore led the Japanese flag quite confidently (on the account of the Australian, we told about this once, 4 participations in the America's Cup and the same number of victories in the world championships in match racing). YRed had 7 points, while Rocknrolla had 13 points.

But in the last race, the Russian team finished second, while YRed – only the tenth. And this radically changed the situation. Samokhin & Co. finished the regatta first (15 points), while Peter Gilmore, Yasuhiro Oji and Sam Gilmore scored two points more.

Annapurna Anatoly Loginov, Vadim Statsenko and Alexandra Shalagina were content with fifth place in Kühlungsborn, although after the first day there was a confident second. This was largely due to a collision on the second race day, which caused the yacht to have a damaged mast.

It remains to add that the team Sunflower with skipper Viktor Fogelson took the 15th place, and Integrity of Mikhail Senatorov – the 20th.

      "Battleship": the first victory
      On Thursday, the third day of the 52SuperSeries Royal Cup competition in Cadiz, the St. Petersburg Yacht Club team was a little sensational: a victory in the first race of the day raised the “Battleship” to the top spot! However, after the fifth finish in the second race, the team of Vladimir Lyubomirov returned to the second line.

Having spent exactly the previous two days of the 52SuperSeries Royal Cup, the “Battleship” opened the third day of the competition from the second position in the overall standings and with a lag behind the leader, titled Italian Azzurra, by one point. At the same time, champion ambitions did not leave the international project under the Turkish flag Provezza, which led the test after the first day, but unsuccessfully made the second one.

It was with the "Turks" that the main battle took place in the first race. With a relatively stable wind, about 12 knots of the side of the tack appeared to be equal. "Battleship" went to the left, while Provezza – right. On the first rounding, the team under the Russian flag had a slight advantage and then only increased it. Provezza pursued and finished second. This result returned the team under the Turkish flag in the top three, and "Battleship" led the test.

The restless leader of the second day and the owner of the Royal Cup 2017 – Azzurra from the Costa Smeralda Club has already become here. Fearing for their position, titled Italians with a whole list of sailing stars in the composition set the task to keep the "Battleship" and Provezza behind them. This team Guillermo Parada and Santiago Lange managed the most correct way – winning the race. The finish of the yachts from the 2nd to the 5th place was very dense, the boats finished in half-hull one by one. “Battleship”, attacked by several rivals at once, was fourth at the third rounding, but at the finish line lost several meters and crossed the line to fifth.

“Indeed, a difficult day, the struggle is in full swing for every meter of distance, for every point in the table,” commented Vladimir Lyubomirov at the “Battleship” steering day, “for the third day the leading group is one or two points apart in the standings. We are confident in our abilities and we will fight to the last! ”

      Krutskih also began with a victory!
      In the suburb of Copenhagen – Skovskhoveda – on Monday started the world championship Finn-Masters. Russia is represented by six riders, including two-time world champion Vladimir Krutskikh.

      The champion of Europe among girls under 16 years old in the class of yachts "Laser 4.7" was the representative of the St. Petersburg school "Krestovsky Island" Alexandra Lukoyanova. Congratulations from Yacht Russia!

The regatta ended in French Yere. In the U18 girls tournament, Alexandra took 8th place. Ksenia Gromova – the 21st.
