Jouillon finished in Ho Chi Minh City
A team of five people, led by 63-year-old skipper Francis Jouillon, completed the transition from Port Louis on the island of Mauritius to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam on the IDEC SPORT maxi trimaran.

Jouillon finished in Ho Chi Minh City

The theoretical distance of 3932.4 miles (actually IDEC SPORT covered one and a half thousand miles more) the trimaran passed in 12 days, 20 hours, 37 minutes and 55 seconds. As you know, no one has ever set records at this distance before. And now it all depends on whether the World Sailing Council for Record Registration records this achievement of Jouillon?

By the way, the famous skipper last week suggested that he will finish in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday. And so it happened. Although, according to preliminary forecasts, experts (and Zhuillon himself) claimed that the trip would take at least 16 days.

Recall that the transition from Port Louis to Ho Chi Minh City was the second part of the record trip of the IDEC SPORT trimaran. At first, Zhuillon single-handedly set a world record (26 days, 4 hours, 13 minutes and 29 seconds), having covered 8800 nautical miles from the town of Port Louis in Brittany to another Port Louis, in Mauritius. Then came the turn of the transition (already with the team) from Port Louis to Ho Chi Minh City.

There are two more stages ahead. First Ho Chi Minh City – Hong Kong – 920 miles. And finally, the classic Tea Race from Hong Kong to London – 13,000 miles.
