The head coach of the training Vitaly Sheludyakov says:

“After the weekend, the second microcycle began, which will last 4 days. The northwest wind has arrived, and according to the forecast, it will blow until the end of our training event. Every working day of athletes is very busy – it starts from the stadium, goes to sea during the day, and ends in the gym in the evening. Last night, the guys ran cross for an hour and a half, and then they had a stretch.
On the water, training takes place in classes, each group has its own distance set by the class coach. At the moment, training on the water is not very long – about 1.5-2.5 hours. But they promise that the weather will become warmer every day, and this will allow us to increase the load on special training.

The guys are all healthy, in a good mood, with great motivation and in anticipation of the sports season, ”the coach shared.

It began with the fact that the training camp in Italy, scheduled from March 2 to 25, was canceled due to the spread of the virus in the country. It was decided to transfer it to Spain, on Palma.

Upon arrival on March 8, the situation was very pleasant, they immediately started training, there were a lot of people on the water, I joined a group of Swiss, at the end of the day training races of all teams were held.

But already on March 12, it became clear that the Princess Sofia Cup and other regattas were being canceled. Many athletes immediately started to disperse, and a questionnaire appeared on the forum of lasers, asking who was left to train.

At first there was no panic, and people planned to stay, but literally every day the panic increased, and as a result, everyone left on the 15th. In connection with the news about the closure of borders, we also promptly left.

Now I am at home and will soon leave for Sochi in order to go on water and continue training.

      Sochi is waiting for the Olympians
      From October 8 to 14, the Yug Sport Federal State Budgetary Institution will host the championship and championship of Russia in the RS: X sailing board class and the country's championship in Olympic yacht classes: Laser Standard, Laser Radial, 470, Finn, 49th, 49th FX and "Nakra 17", according to the press service of the All-Russian Federal Border Guard Service based on materials from the Sochi Sailing Federation.

It is expected that about 160 athletes from 36 regions will take part in the competition. All the strongest youth of the country and the stars of the Russian sail will be chasing.

At the national championship will be the bronze medalist of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro Stefania Elfutina, who a few days ago took fourth place in the World Cup, winning the medal race at such major starts for the first time. And also the winner of the 2019 World Windsurfing Championship, the bronze medalist of the Youth Olympic Games-2018, Yana Reznikova. The leaders of the national team in the RS class: X – Evgeny Ayvazyan, Alexander Askerov, Vladislav Burmistrenko, Maxim Tokarev and others will take part in the men's competition.

For five racing days, the organizers plan to hold 12 races in each of the classes. Races will be held at three distances – in the waters from the beach of the Hotel "Primorskaya" to the port of Matsesta.

Not only the material and technical base of the Yug Sport FSBI sailing center is being prepared for the competition, but also the entire infrastructure of the South Federal Center for Sports Training. In the framework of the federal target program "Development of physical culture and sports in the Russian Federation for 2016-2020", a major overhaul of the Primorsky building was carried out.
