      Launched a training boat
      At the historical shipyard "Poltava" of the Yacht Club of St. Petersburg, a solemn ceremony of launching a boom – training sailing and rowing boat took place. Such booms can become training ships for young sailors from all regions of Russia.

The historical shipyard Poltava launched the construction of a series of training sailing and rowing vessels. The unique development of the shipyard masters will make it possible to provide all sea clubs, cadet corpses and schools with a training base in the shortest possible time.

At the Poltava shipyard, such boats will be built of plywood, and all parts are pre-cut on a CNC machine. This technology allows you to reduce the construction time of the gimbal, as well as the cost of materials. At the shipyard, it will be possible to order a boat both fully assembled and in the form of blanks. Young sailors will be able to build such a boat under the guidance of 1-2 masters.

“By building such boats using this technology, we believe that more can be built for the same money. So, more people will go to sea and touch the beautiful. We really hope that the clubs for young sailors, higher maritime educational institutions and non-specialized educational institutions will be able to use these boats for boat practices, for various forms of team building – this boat copes with this role very well, ”explained the chief builder of the Poltava shipyard Mikhail Plekhanov.

According to maritime tradition, before the launch, the boat was decorated with a wreath and doused with champagne. The winter descent of a gig in St. Petersburg will forever go down in history, usually at this time the water in the Gulf of Finland freezes. Athletes of the Academy of Sailing, who will continue to train on this boat, took advantage of weather conditions and even made a small exit to the bay.

“Thanks to its sailing weapons, the entire team that sits in the boat –10 people is involved in working with sails. Two people work on the halyard, one on the tack, one on the sheet, one on the back of the box. Compared to conventional sailing boat armament, where only the steering and clews work, and the rest, in general, are bored and do not get any marine practice, the gichka is an ideal boat to educate and teach young people, ”said the trainer of the Maritime School Eugenia Siobko.

Classes for young sailors on sailing and rowing boats – boating boats – have been held at the Yacht Club of St. Petersburg since 2014. Every year, cadets of the Kronstadt naval military corps and cadets of the Nakhimov naval school practice here.

      SEA EAGLE II launched
      Meet: in front of you is the 81-meter three-masted schooner SEA EAGLE II. One of the largest sailing yachts in the world and the largest with an aluminum hull. Yesterday she was launched.

This beautiful yacht was built by the Royal Huisman company at the shipyard in Wallenhow (Netherlands). Dykstra Naval Architects was responsible for the marine engineering of the ship. Mark Whiteley became the designer.

It is planned that the yacht will be handed over to the owner – a Taiwanese businessman and philanthropist Samuel Yin – in the first half of this year, 2020.

      Gold Cup Launched

      Silver Cup 2019 Launched

Teams from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Vladivostok and Jurmala registered for the regatta, including the winner of last year's draw – the Annapurna team (RUS 27) with Alexei Murashkin on the steering wheel.

The judges started the first race exactly on schedule, exactly at 12:00. A south wind of 12-13 knots was established at a distance, with gusts of up to 16. All 15 teams that came to the start area started cleanly.

After the first maneuvering, the teams Russo Orient Express (RUS 91) Yuri Skripkin and Lucky-Lucky (RUS 55) Yuri Kulikov were the first to go to the upper mark, then RUS 18 Yulia Grigoryeva, RUS 27 Aleksey Murashkin and RUS 32 Maxim Gankevich went around by a small margin. By the beginning of the second starting procedure, the wind intensified and in gusts reached 20 knots. However, the start was as clean as in the first race. But in this second race, if intrigue persisted, it was only in the struggle for bronze.

Apparently, inspired by his victory, the team of Alexei Murashkin (RUS 27) decided not to miss the advantage and approached the first sign with a wide margin from the pursuers. Further, a dense group rounded around RUS 32, RUS 55, RUS 21 and RUS 18.

At the lower gates, the Annapurna advantage (RUS 27) increased even further. The team of Maxim Gankevich (RUS 32), marching second, was also able to break away from the rest of the fleet. Yuri Kulikov (RUS 55) held in third place, and Anna Basalkina's team (LAT 3) climbed to fourth position.

Compared to last year’s championship the current fleet has added two boats and now represents eight countries. At the disposal of the titular fleet, the waters of the island of sails, as it is sometimes called Majorca, provided excellent conditions with light wind and smooth water. But giving away the title, it seems, exerts too much psychological pressure on participants in official training race a day earlier on the course broke a serious struggle.

What to say about the first day of scoring races.       Less than two months are left before the MINI TRANSAT 2019 race. Transgascogne 6.50 race completes the long preparation of singles for this event. Among others, our Irina Gracheva also started in her.

The fleet consists of both single and double-handed. Participants from 10 different countries (Australia, Great Britain, Italy, France, Switzerland, Spain, Russia, Germany, Belgium and Estonia), including all the current leaders in the annual class rating, so that a beautiful match is guaranteed!

Irina, charged with communicating with friends and relatives during a trip to her native St. Petersburg, goes to Transgascogne 6.50 alone to once again test herself and her equipment.

      “Lasers” launched at the start
      In the largest of the Porto suburbs, Vila Nova de Guy (which is called the true capital of port in Portugal), the first two European Championship races were held on Monday in Laser Standard, as well as in Laser Radial and men).
