      284 miles benefits!
The attempt of the famous French skipper Francis Jouillon, together with a crew of four, to set a new world record on the classic Tea Race route for about 15 thousand nautical miles from Hong Kong to London, has been ongoing for three days.

284 miles benefits!

Recall that since 2018, the record – 36 days, 2 hours, 37 minutes and 2 seconds – belongs to Giovanni Soldini and maxi-trimaran Maserati Multi 70. As we already reported, in order to improve the achievement of Italians, the French must cross the finish line, passing under the bridge Queen Elizabeth II on the Thames, no later than at 11 hours 36 minutes and 58 seconds on Saturday, February 23.

Over the first three days, IDEC Sport successfully (and, most importantly, fairly quickly) overcame all obstacles in the South China Sea (where there were many islands and thousands of fishing boats on the way). 1730 miles have passed, and now Zhuillon and Co (red trimaran on the tracker) are ahead of the schedule Maserati Multi 70 (white trimaran) by 284.4 miles! Agree, a great start!

True, IDEC Sport came close to the zone of light winds. And very soon it will approach the Sunda Strait separating the islands of Java and Sumatra.
