Ahead of Comanche
Today, in the early morning Moscow time, the famous 628-mile Rolex Sydney to Hobart yacht race started from Sydney.

Ahead of Comanche

The current race is the 75th anniversary. This year 157 yachts went on a distance.

The first Sydney Bay left Comanche (100 Supermaxi), the crew of which, as always, will fight for Line Honors. On board this yacht, according to our data, is the only representative of Russia in the current "Sydney – Hobart" Sergei Dzhienbaev.

Six hours after the launch, Comanche (owners and skippers Samantha Grant and Jim Cooney) were ahead of InfoTrack (skipper Joe Akasich) by 4.8 nautical miles.

      The real race is ahead!
It took just 2 days, 20 hours, 28 minutes and 50 seconds a five-person team led by Francis Jouillon to go on the IDEC SPORT max trimaran 845 nautical miles from Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) to Shenzhen (China).

The real race is ahead!Francis Gouillon "width =" 643 "height =" 367 "data-caption =" Francis Gouillon ">

It was possible to overcome the distance faster, but, as Zhuillon warned in advance, there were many islands and fishing boats in the way of the trimaran. So the 63-year-old skipper chose to avoid unnecessary risk: the route was covered at an average speed of 11.4 knots. And the maximum speed that we managed to develop in the segment from Ho Chi Minh to Shenzhen is only 18.3 knots. For IDEC SPORT, all this is so, children's toys.

Now – after a short rest and checking all the ship's systems – IDEC SPORT will leave from Hong Kong (which is very close) on a long journey 13,000 miles long to London along the route of the classic Tea Race.

      Ahead – Cape Town!
The 15th day of the race of four Brest Atlantiques four maxi trimarans ends with a length of 14,000 miles. Most of the distance – 8,000 miles – is already behind. It is planned that tonight the leader of the race – Maxi Edmond de Rothschild (skippers – Frank Kamma / Charles Codrelier) will approach Cape Town. The rest – early Thursday morning.

Ahead - Cape Town!

On the last day, there was a moment when catamarans due to wind conditions significantly approached each other: for example, Macif (Francois Gabard / Gwenole Gaine) was only 50 miles behind the leader – however, now (at 11.30 Moscow time) the distance between them has increased again – up to 96 miles.

Actual Leader Yves Le Bleve and Alex Pell (188 miles behind the leader) are in third place, Sodebo Ultim 3 Tom Coville and Jean-Luc Nelia (255 miles) are in fourth place.

The fact that Sodebo turned out to be closing is due to two serious breakdowns of one of the floats due to collisions with unidentified objects. Because of this, the crew will have to make a pit stop in Cape Town. Repair is expected to take at least 10 hours.

The rest, upon entering Cape Town, will go around Robben Island and head for Brest, where on November 5 they took off.
