Ahead – reigning world champions
On the third day of the 7th finals of the Star Sailors League, the main regatta of the year in the Star class, which takes place at the Nassau Yacht Club in the Bahamas, the leader changed again.
Three races were held on Thursday, and now ahead is one of the most famous and experienced crews – the Pole Mateusz Kusnerevich (winner of Olympic gold-1996 and bronze-2004 in Finn) and Brazilian Bruno Prada (silver medalist of the Games in 2008 and bronze in 2012 in Zvezdnoy, a five-time world champion in the same Zvezdnoy, including this year with the same Kusnerevich).
After three days and eight races held, this duo has 33 points. The crew, consisting of Ian Persie (Great Britain, Olympic champion 2000 at Finn) and Anders Extrem (Sweden, former world champion in Zvezdnoy), took second place – with a lag of 10 points.
