Zotya Novikova – about training in Sochi
The press service of the RUS Youth Sailing Team today posted a story by Zoya Novikova (class 49th FX) about how she and Diana Sabirova go towards their lofty goals.
Novikova Zoya, St. Petersburg: “The training camp in Sochi is going very well. We are glad that we are here, because all our materiel is currently located on Palma (Father Mallorca, Spain). Thanks to the joint efforts of Togliatti and Krestovsky Island, all the necessary equipment was assembled for us in a record short time.
The whole quarantine since the end of March, Diana and I were far apart from our parents. We had constant training on Zoom with a trainer on the physical fitness zone of Krestovsky Island. But all the same, together on isolation is more fun!
Arriving at the training camp in Sochi by car, I had to sit in the room for only a couple of days, and then we did not lose time and still continued to train in the rooms. In the first week, while Diana continued to be isolated, I managed to arm and prepare the boat.
And so, after passing through all quarantine measures, our full training began both on the shore and on the water. I am very glad that we have the opportunity to train so productively and return to our form. And when time is scheduled in minutes, there is a firm belief that the whole process is good. In general, I am glad that we finally managed to personally work with Maria Komisarova. For some reason, she really motivates me. Training is very interesting and diverse. Morally you do not get tired.
On the water we have formed a very good tandem with Yu. A. Konovalov. We are returning to form in a friendly, and for us, the most important calm atmosphere.
At the moment, we are working on our preparation plan in order to reach our peak form for the selection for the Olympic Games. We conducted an analysis of our mistakes in preparation and formed for ourselves the main points that we will radically change. In a word, I can say that it is impossible to come up with better conditions while access to water is prohibited in St. Petersburg.
Well, thanks, of course, to all the coaches who work with us! And special thanks to Vadim Andreevich Pushev, who is in touch with us 24 hours a day and helps to solve all arising issues! ”
