World Cup to be!
The good news came from the organizers of the WISSA 2020 World Winter Sports Championship. Due to the fact that winter did not come in Estonia, the decision was made not to cancel, but to move the venue of the competition.
Recall, according to the rules of the conduct, this year one of the European countries should host the championship. And so, after a brief search, a suitable lake was found in the north of Finland, near the town of Lestiyarvi. Today, there are excellent conditions for racing – ice 30-40 cm thick sprinkled with a little snow. And in the forecast for the coming days there will be an increase in frost and a certain amount of precipitation. The lake area is sufficient (64.7 km²) so that it can simultaneously accommodate distances for both kiters and surfers.
Starts will be held, as planned, from 10 to 15 February 2020.
Information about the location, racing area and other useful information will be posted next week on the championship website – wissa2020.ee.
