Swiss Alan mourning isn set out to improve the record of crossing the Atlantic from new York to lizard point (the southernmost point of the island of Britain) on the yacht class IMOCA Open 60. And close to success!
Alan 26 years old, but on account of his many long solitary racing. So, in 2016, he started in the Vendée Globe and finished in 12th place. In the Route du Rhum-2018 finished seventh.
All this, of course, a considerable achievement, but I’d say that the second plan. And now the mourning isn set out to be the focus of attention of the sailing publications. As you already know, he’s trying to set a new record crossing the Atlantic on the yacht class IMOCA Open 60.
While the achievement belongs to the French Brand Guillemo that in 2013 the yacht Safran overcame the distance from new York to lizard point in 8 days, 5 hours, 20 minutes and 20 seconds. So, it is likely, the mourning isn and La Fabrique that are on the road for the sixth day to finish them in less than six hundred nautical miles, will improve this achievement. In any case, today at 9 am Moscow time (more recent data unavailable), the Swiss was ahead of his virtual rival by 50.8 miles. Good luck!
