International Federation sail – World Sailing – today published the shortlist of nominees for the title of Best yachtsman 2019 (Rolex World Sailor of the Year 2019).
In the men’s half of the list were: Antoine Albo (France) – a famous master of Windsurfing and multiple world champion PWA World Tour in slalom; Matt Belcher and will Ryan (Australia) – world Champions. Europe and world Cup 2019 in the 470 class; Marco Gradoni (Italy) – world champion in 2018 and 2019 in the class “Optimist”; Francis Guion (France) – the winner of the race Route du Rhum.
In the women’s half of the list: Dolphin Cousin-Kestel (France) – world champion PWA World Tour-2018 slalom; Violeta del Reino (Spain) – winner of the para-World Sailing world Cup 2019; Anne-Marie Rind (Denmark) – a world and European champion-2019 in the class “Laser radial”.
To vote for a particular nominee will be from 22 to 28 October on the website of the World Sailing. Winners will be called at the ceremony, which will take place on 29 October in Bermuda.
