Interview with Sergey Komissarov press service of the Academy sailing of the Yacht club of Saint-Petersburg

The championship in the class “Laser” was held in Porto. At its end, the athlete Academy sailing Sergey Komissarov told about the course of the race, and shared plans for the near future.

Recall that in the Port Sergey has occupied 8-e a place among the Europeans and 14th in the open competition. This is the best result among Russians.

WEATHER CONDITIONS

“The Port was good working conditions with its features such as strong current and big waves, — says Sergey Komissarov. — The race was held on different winds, was as weak in the beginning of the regatta, and fresh in the final round”

ON THE PROGRESS OF THE RACE

“In the first race made a strategic mistake, after which and has not managed to get out. In the sixth race, was third, fighting American, and closer to the sign began to work more actively, perhaps, on the verge of a penalty. The judges didn’t like it – I got a whistle and instead of the third-fourth place became the eighth. Finals for me started well enough – showed a good result in the first race. The second was the fifth, I spent almost all galfind, but the judges gave me the second yellow flag. I was very surprised with this decision – what they called pumping, in fact it was trimming. The arbitrators interpreted this strange episode. We will communicate with the coach and discuss it, so more is not to run. The next race was good. I set a goal to race more conservatively”

ON THE OUTCOME OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP

“The result I’m satisfied, and dissatisfied. You always want to do better, but on the other hand, for the second year in a row fails to enter the top ten strongest of the Europeans.”

PLANS FOR THE FUTURE

“In June, I have planned two training camps in Japan. The first will be held from 6 th to 19 th in Sakaiminato. After that I was eight days coming home. The second session will be held immediately before the world championship in the class “Laser”. There will be raffled five licenses to Olympic games 2020″

ON THE SUPPORT OF THE FANS

“Thank you to all who sick and support! And of course, the Ministry of sport of the Russian Federation, GBU MO CSOS, Academy sailing of the Yacht club of Saint-Petersburg, CSKA Moscow, all-Russian Federation of sailing class, SLAM Russia and RussianRigger!”
