Famous Belgian coach will conduct a camp before the regatta OptiOrange in Valencia in March 2019

The second OptiOrange regatta organized by the sailing Academy Yacht club of Saint-Petersburg and the Real Club Nautico de Valencia, with the support of the Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation in the Valencian region and the Association AMICS will be held from 8 to 10 March 2019 on the basis of the Valencia Training Center.

Children’s regatta will once again be called OptiOrange International Regatta, and the mascot competition will once again become Naranjito. It is expected that this year will be attended by more than 100 athletes from European countries. At the moment, the invitation to take part in the competition was sent to the young athletes from Spain, Russia, Germany, Italy, Poland, Estonia, Finland, organizers expect participants from all European countries, the application form for participation can be submitted at [email protected] until March 3.

It became known that before the regatta will be held a training camp for all comers, it will hold the famous Belgian specialist Pieter Van Den Bossche, head coach and founder of 8 days a week (http://8daysaweek.be/coach/pieter-van-den-bossche/). Note that among the achievements of his students – first place in the championship in the class “Optimist” 2017 at the girls.

Peter shared with us the upcoming collection: “looking forward to March! Valencia is the perfect place to train in early spring, when most of Europe is still too cold. I am sure that the organizers will do everything in their power that the competition was held at the highest level. Well, we, in turn, will help drivers to settle in unfamiliar waters and qualitatively prepare for races”.

The clinic (gathering) will continue 3 days – from 5 to 7 March. Emphasis will be placed on the operation of the yacht at sea, the tactical aspects and the specifics of the local area.

According to the organizers, the regatta should become an excellent platform for exchange of experience between coaches and young athletes, as well as training in the winter, in excellent conditions, the Spanish coast.
