Two races before the end
The world championship in the speed catamaran class on hydrofoils GC32 ended in Lagos in the south of Portugal on Sunday.
The world champion for two more races until the end of the regatta was the Swiss team Alinghi (owner – Ernesto Bertarelli, steering – Arno Psarofagus), who scored 57 points in total. About the advantage of Alinghi says, for example, the following fact: it became the first in 8 out of 18 races.
At the second place is another famous Swiss team – Team Tilt, which won the GC32 World Championship last year (74 points). In the third (78) – the British from INEOS Rebels UK, led by Sir Ben Ainsley.
