The first racing day of the world Cup in RC44 class, which is from 10 to 13 July takes Swedish Marstrand, gave participants the perfect conditions: 15 knots of wind, complex wave and the bright sun. After the three races held on the Russian “Nika” and “Tavatuy” go to the top three, and “Battleship” occupies the fifth place.

After the unstable weather of the Adriatic sailing Mecca of Sweden – Marstrand – finally acquired a fleet of nine pennants in the beautiful weather on the first day of the competition. In a steady wind in one breath there were three races of the RC44 world championship.

Unexpectedly unstable in the first day were the leaders of the standings-2019 – Slovenian Ceeref: with one win and two eighth wards Igor La occupies the penultimate place. And the last – Monegasque Nico Punch, despite the fact that “Charisma” – the winner of season 2018.

On the contrary, very confidently started debutants of the season Tavatuy from Yekaterinburg. Team Kuznetsova/Neugodnikova was the second after two races, but the average finish in the third pushed the crew into third place in the standings.

Three times world champion, including the winner of the championship in 2017, which also took Marstrand, Mr Proshin started the day badly. To return to the top three “Nike” helped win in the last race. “We waited for the right time, which is calculated on all day – said the tactics “Nicky” Tom Slingsby. And we immediately all turned out!”

For twice the bronze medalist of the world Championships (including in Marstrand, 2017) of the crew of the Yacht club of Saint-Petersburg “Battleship” the day began badly. But the second coming in the final race behind team-mates helped the crew to Kirill Frolov back in the game. “Battleship” ended the day fifth with quite feasible to overcome the gap to the leaders. “We’re not very good start, but in General, after the difficult weather of Croatia and Montenegro, this day have pleased me, – says Kirill Frolov. To come second in the harbour of Marstrand’s very nice!”
