Today – three medal races
At the 2019 World Cup stage in Genoa (Italy) on Saturday, medal races will be held in three classes – 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17.
To catch up, on Friday the “forty-ninths” (both men and women) had 4 races each – in the end they turned out 9. There were also 4 in the Nacra 17, but in total there were 7 races.
Unfortunately, the Russians did not make it into the medal races in any of these three classes. 49er: Jan Cech / Ivan Zotov – 15th place, Konstantin Nosov / Alexander Gaidaenko – 56th. 49erFX: Zoya Novikova / Diana Sabirova – 42nd place. Nacra 17: Maxim Semenov / Alina Schetinkina – 24th place, Sergey Dzhienbayev / Sofia Kiseleva – 32nd.
In the remaining five classes, the struggle for Sunday medal races will continue today. The Russians are represented only in two of these classes – these are men's 470 (so far only 4 races have been held) and Laser (6). It is in these classes that our main hopes come out, but Pavel Sozykin and Denis Gribanov (24th place), as well as Sergey Komissarov (15th) will have to perform at the maximum to win the medal race.
Two more of ours in the Laser class are now in such positions: 36. Daniel Krutskikh. …50. Cyril Evfimievsky.
