The press service of the Academy of Sailing Yacht Club St. Petersburg took a short interview with one of the leading "lasers" of Russia Sergey Komissarov. He is now in the assembly in the Japanese Sakaiminato and is preparing for the World Cup, which will be held here from 2 to 9 July.
Here is what Sergey said: “We arrived on June 6th, the first day went on adaptation, a big temporary difference affected, we trained 7-11, 12 we will rest due to not very good wind forecast, then we will return to training again. The collection will last until the 19th.
The goal is to explore the local water area, to tamper with the wave, to understand what conditions we will have to wait at the World Championships, at which five licenses will be drawn for the Olympic Games in Tokyo-2020.
Of course, the emphasis is on training in the water, but we also work a lot in the gym. First of all, we adjust to the wind: if it blows heavily, then we spend more time on the water, if it is weak, then in the hall.
Of course, Japan is another world for Europeans. They treat us very carefully, pay a lot of attention, thus often putting us in an uncomfortable position, we are for them – dear guests. There are some nuances, but in general I am very comfortable training here.
After the collection, I return home for a week, the second collection starts here on June 27, just before the World Cup. Thanks to all my relatives and friends, as well as fans and sponsors for their support! ”
