To the leaders at hand
World Sailing World Championship (up to 19 years old) in Polish Gdynia comes to an end: tomorrow, July 20, the final races will take place.
Our main hopes in Gdynia are connected with Yana Reznikova: after ten races she goes third in the class RS: X, and on Thursday in three races she finished first and twice in the second!
Now Yana has 34 points, and the leaders in the literal sense of the word are within reach: Lina Geva from Israel, who takes the first place, has 29 points, from the French Eloise Makcher – 33. True, and the pursuers are not far: Natasa Lappa (Cyprus) behind Reznikova by 2 points, Yulia Matveenko (Belarus) – by 5 points.
The crew in the 29er class Victoria Liksanova / Polina Pereshivkina also have a chance to take a fairly high place. After 11 races, the girls have risen to the top ten – now they occupy the 9th place! On Thursday, Victoria and Polina finished sixth twice!
