      To meet again
Last weekend, in the Konakovo River Club yacht club in the Ivankovo reservoir, with the support of Stoloto Trading House, the Konakovo Regatta was held – the first qualifying round of the Russian Championship in the class of the yachts on the Volga.

To meet again

The composition and territorial affiliation of the participants were representative: Sochi, Moscow region (Mytishchi, Dolgoprudny, Kotelniki, Dmitrov, Voskresensk, Mozhaysk), Saratov, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, Taganrog, Tolyatti, Rostov on Don, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg. Nine teams took part in the competition. The most titled team was the FPS of the city of Sochi. It is noteworthy that for the first time a purely female crew with a helmsman Irina Buzinova participated in the selection.

For the selection, participants had to go through 9 races, no more than 5 races per day, and it is great that the weather allowed it. On the first day five races were held, there was a light wind of 6-8 knots of the northern direction.

I was pleased with the female crew – at first they practically left no chances to men (wards 1-2-1), but then, apparently, they got a little tired (7th and 8th places). Stably in the leading group came teams of two Mikhailov – Poslamovsky and Nechvolodov.

On Sunday, the wind retained the direction and increased to 15-18 knots, the gusts brought lambs, accelerated the wave, and the struggle escalated. Leaders changed, and even outsiders broke through to the third place at the finish line, which indicates their untapped potential, the PEC team: the youth team even finished the first in the last race of the regatta. The women's team that day was hard, they are only the fifth. The Sochi team replaced the gennaker and on the whole course things went better for them, it allowed them to enter the coveted four.

The following teams took the podium:

Michael Poslamovsky's M-Sailing Team -1 place

"Their" Mikhail Nechvolodov – 2 place

TREM-Sailing Irina Sorokina – 3 place

Damage to the yacht was not. The races were held correctly, and everyone was satisfied with the organization and conduct of the competition. Non-selected participants appealed to the Konakovo River Club's yacht club with a request to hold here the second stage of selection for the Russian championship in July to meet again on hospitable Volga water.
