Good news came from the organizers of the world championship winter sports WISSA 2020. Due to the fact that in Estonia the winter never begun, it was decided not to abolish and change of venue of the competitions.
Recall the rules for this year to take the championship should one of the countries of Europe. And so, after a short search, found a suitable lake in the North of Finland, near the town of Lestijärvi. Today there were perfect conditions for the races – ice thickness of 30-40 cm and sprinkled with a small amount of snow. The forecast for the coming days is the increased frost and loss of some amount of precipitation. The lake area is sufficient (or 64.7 km2), making it ready to place distance and for kiters and surfers.
The starts will be held, as scheduled, from 10 to 15 February 2020.
