Spanish in Cadiz is world championship in the class Techno 293. As the press service of the WFTU for the two days of racing, the organizers held four races – two in boys under 17 and 15 years.
Unfortunately, right at the start of the competition the wind had made plans for athletes adjustments. On Monday, he was absent – accordingly, race was not conducted. But on Tuesday decided to return – albeit briefly.
“In the morning the whole area was covered with fog, no wind, – said the coach of Moscow Boris Minaev. – The race was postponed, waited and waited. As soon as the wind went, jumped into the water. The first race of the guys was in the wind, there was no planing. But the second the wind picked up, and the race took place already in terms of gliding,”.
On the eve of the race organizers divided the athletes in each age group into two fleets. In the category up to 15 years, where are the 89 participants, which is the gray and green fleets. Young men up to 17 years (137 participants) – blue and yellow.
The main task of the athletes in the qualifying stage to get into the first half of the results table – and thus in the gold fleet. It will be fighting for the medals and a good final.
After the first two races of the older boys the best of the Russians became Mikhail Alexandrov – with 35 points, he is 33rd. Three points from behind him, Vladimir Filatov, occupying 35th place.
“Both of these athlete while held in the gold fleet. Most likely, there will be and Ivan Kovbasyuk – he’s 65-th, – said Boris Minaev. – Gleb Semiletov and Daniel Dineev while in silver. The younger boys in the gold fleet get Dmitry Nesterenko (26th) and Gennady Pournin (43rd). Egor Seminihina to achieve the goal, just need one good trip. I hope he will cope with it”.
