At the start of the regatta left this time 98 young sailors in five classes: Girls, Boys, Junior Girls, Junior Boys and Cadets (those who engaged in the first year).
On the first day the wind was not enough for the competition, so all racing was postponed to 8 June. On the second day, wind power was 3-4 node, so the organizers spent all three races, slightly reducing the distance.
In the overall ranking the victory was won by the athlete Academy sailing Cyril Shanenkov who won all three races. Silver was won by the pupil of the “Krestovsky island” Danila Ivanov, and the third was Daniel Pepper from dspk to “Rout”. Susenkov and Pepper will represent Russia at the upcoming Championships, and Ivan – at the world championship.
“For me the race went well – says the winner of the “Optimists of the Northern capital. Cup Gazprom” Kirill Shanenkov. – I took a start almost all races. I was not very comfortable to race in such conditions – had longer to sit inside and work the body. In the camp we will prepare well for the European Championships, I really like the water area of the port Johannes. So the European championship of fighting spirit”.
Among the girls first place went to Alice in Ivanovo (dspk “the Rout”), which finished in ninth place in the overall standings and walked almost all boys.
“Today was a difficult day of racing, because there was virtually no wind, says the best athlete among girls. “Because of this, it was difficult. I am pleased with tetroxide in distilled. For me it’s quite successful regatta. I was hard to compete immediately after the Cup of Association of class “Optimist”. Most of all I’m tired not physically, but emotionally and psychologically.”
