In Sochi, on the basis of the FSBI "South Sport", the country's windsurfing championship continues. On the second day of the race, men and women went through three races, according to the website of the VFPS.
The wind, very weak in the morning, had mercy on the competitors closer to dinner. Going out to the water at about one in the afternoon, the judges and athletes returned to the beach only at half past four. The first race was held in light wind – the athletes had to work hard physically. Therefore, by the end of the second race of forces, some had little. But, fortunately, the wind slowly grew stronger, and from the third start the athletes “flew”.
The leader of the environment, Vladislav Burmistrenko, an athlete from the Krestovsky Island sailing school, finished third, first and fourth on Thursday. After throwing out the worst result, he retained his first intermediate place, having 8 points in the asset.
“There were very difficult conditions, as usual in Sochi, when there was no wind,” Vladislav said after the races. – When the wind is more or less fresh, the races are also difficult, but not so much. Of course, I would like to speak better. But today's result is also not bad. We have an interesting fight with the guys, leaders change in each race. And that’s great. ”
The second and third places – with nine points scored – are held by windsurfers of the Sochi Olympic Training Center for Sailing Evgeny Aivazyan and Alexander Askerov. On Thursday, they also won one race: Alexander – the first, and Eugene – the third.
Women again had no equal Stefania Elfutina. In three races, she finished twice the first and once the second. Only the rising star of our team, 16-year-old Muscovite Yana Reznikova, who became the world junior champion in August, was able to get around the leader of the Russian team. After throwing out the worst result, Yana takes second place, behind Stephanie by three points. Anastasia Shchedrina, a pupil of the Academy of Sailing of the Yacht Club of St. Petersburg, climbed to third position. Her lag behind the leader is eight points.
