According to the website http://www.russiansails2020.ru started the 200-mile regatta, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica and the 75th anniversary of Victory in the great Patriotic war. The first sailboats of the Agency was found in the southern latitudes of the Atlantic and brought to life project on a global scale.
In the southern part of the Atlantic ocean was found “Sedov”, “Kruzenshtern” and “Pallada”. Crews and cadets of each vessel are set to win the race.
Most of the 200-mile regatta, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica and the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the great Patriotic war, was preceded by joint maneuvering and sports competitions between students.
First saw on the “Sedov” approaching “a Pallada” cadet Ivan Havansky, who at this moment stood watch on the steering wheel. Thus, Ivan became the winner of competition is declared the senior assistant to the captain Pavel Starostin. For the care and “Glasstech” Pavel Sergeevich handed Ivan a personal officer hat – that’s where he began his career of the skipper on “Pallada”.
All-day command of the barque “Sedov” was held for the photo – and video recording of the approaching frigate and barque. Going at a sufficient distance, “Sedov”, “Pallada” and “Kruzenshtern” greeted each other with a triple beep of the horn. Cadets lined the sides and waved to their friends-opponents of white caps. They even managed to create a “choir bridge”, sending each other the best slogans of their sailing ships, educational institutions and faculty groups. So they symbolized the relationship of all Maritime educational institutions of Russia, from Kaliningrad to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, and universal unity for the realization of the noble ideas of the Expedition.
On the duty boat training sailing vessel “Kruzenshtern” on the barque “Sedov” has arrived the head of Department of navigation and practical training captain-coach Mikhail Vyacheslavovich Novikov. With the captains Evgeny Romashkin by and Nikolai Kuzmich of Zorchenko he discussed details of the joint manoeuvres, sporting events and, of course, the upcoming regatta.
And, finally, opened the start of the 200-mile regatta. To announced time the participants arrived to the starting line, and stopping the main engines, was at the mercy of waves and wind – a memorial race began.

Upon completion of the course, the captains will submit the Declaration, which will indicate the time of crossing the finish line and the total time in minutes spent on the passage of 200 miles.
However, this race will not and cannot be winners and losers. The occasion of the sailing fleet of the Agency are initially deprived of the sporting element: the idea of a regatta and is symbolic of belonging to the heroic pages of history of Russia and the Maritime traditions of sailing ships. Each member of the Expedition provided a unique opportunity to honor the courage of the Russians, who honored the interests of the state and saw the meaning of life is service to him.
