Dutch shipyard Hakvoort Shipyard on 1 December launched a new flagship 63,72 metre motor YN249 Explorer SCOUT, created in collaboration with Jonny Horsfield (Jonny Horsfield) and his colleagues from the well-known British design Studio H2 Yacht Design. Naval architecture project was carried out by Diana Yacht Design.

To their discerning owners SCOUT will be next spring, and while she went from Monnickendam (suburb of Amsterdam), where is located the shipyard in the very capital: to get a mast with crow’s nest, radar, stabilizers and propellers.

During the construction of the boat was known under the Project name Brio. But the title is the most unimportant change, which survived the project. Initially it was supposed to be another owner, who has collaborated with Fraser Yachts, and Explorer of the steel and aluminium vessel was not immediately.

“The owner wanted to built from scratch the Explorer looked like he converted from a commercial vessel. His lines are clear, pronounced, built-in front window is chamfered. The tenders we have placed on the nose, putting them on display to add a utilitarian aesthetics,” says Horsfield.

In the bow of the ship is a helipad, which you can also admire the views (in addition to the spacious Lido deck). The place is really a lot: SCOUT width — 11,6 m

“These two areas allow without interference to observe the stern and a nose on which to focus life on Board. During design we started with the romantic idea of the “open” ocean. The whole design of the SCOUT — outside and inside — reflects this. This is a fantastic, unique boat,” continued Horsfield.

On Board will be able to rise up to eight guests. Four residential quarters for them is located on the main deck, and a level located above the owner’s apartment. On the lower level SCOUT in nine cabins to live crew members. Next to them are also two cabin attendants. The captain’s cabin adjacent to the wheelhouse on the bridge.

The movement of the ship will bring two diesel engines CATERPILLAR 3512 C. They will disperse SCOUT to 14.8 knots. At cruising speed of 12.5 knots she can go in offline mode up to 4800 nautical miles. Sediment SCOUT is 3,25 meter.

The developers have ensured that the boat requires minimal maintenance, and that she may need to ensure as simple as possible.
